Re: Looking for concealed suggestions
Very much an individual, comfort, level of paranoia issue. I error on the "over do it side" because I try to practice worse case scenarios for hand guns and holsters. I have owned them all and carried them all and find I end up back to two holsters and three guns. I carry full size hand guns to give examples to students. I carry a full size custom 1911, Smith model 13 or a Glock 22 in a milt sparks versa max II IWB in black for each gun. 1.5" belt loops and also use tuckable clips. Belts are key. I have 5.11 holster belts, Galco holster belts and Desantis holster belts. I have had all the vest, shirts and cover garments too. I am down to the Woolrich Elite Discrete vest, 5.11 covert or Woolrich discrete shirts. It's a total package with handgun, holster, belt and cover garment. For extreme conceal carry where it is a no-no to the public, I use the Galco belly band over a wife beater T shirt at belt line. Any shirt, lightly tucked in will cover this with no printing. Barrel length is insignificant with standard carry guns IWB. The printing of the grip is the tricky part. A good forward cant is important. The Kramer #3 is not bad but there is no split in the belt snaps so if you are centered over a belt loop you have to slide it forward or back. Some call this the FBI cant. Milt sparks and Galco Royal guards have the split snap. Milts sparks is more comfortable. Both the Royal Guard and the Milt sparks offer easy one handed holstering. This may be important when the threat has stopped and you need to secure your hand gun, reholster, use a cell phone to dial 911, etc. For our revolver brothers I carry a Smith and Wesson model 13 with a 4" bull barrel in a Simply Rugged inside the waist band/ belt loop holster. It looks like hell but you can carry a full size smith and wesson with a 4" barrel 357 magnum 6 shot concealed, all day long. All of these holsters are made in the USA. Very important to me.
Ditto on taking a class. If you can't shoot a Glock accurately, something is wrong with your fundamentals.
If you plan to carry without a round chambered, you sure better practice drawing, working the slide, firing while moving back and ducking for cover. You will not have time to do that in a defensive encounter.
All hand guns have multiple safeties. The most important one is your brain. Keep your finger out of the trigger guard. It works every time it is tried.
If you ware a jacket with a draw string, there is something wrong with you and you need to get more tactical.
