Hi,

Years ago a friend gifted me a brand new (but old) RAPTAR and I finally want to put it to use, the issue is that I dont have much information about it other than how to mount it and even that seems a bit complicated due to the picatinny with a screw hole design.
I was wondering if anyone here was familiar with them and could help me figure it out. I am attaching pictures of all of the parts I have.

As far as mounting goes, I was looking to mount this on a diving board that doesnt have a screw hole. I was told that "certain unit" in the Army had these and ended up epoxing a picatinnty mount clamp to the raptar in order to prevent shifts when the single screw mount came loose. I do have that super tall picatinny clamp but wanted to see if there was an alternate option that was lower profile/better overall.

There is the RAPTAR itself, then a "module" looking thing with AB with buttons that has a battery cap and a cable connector, and there is also a small screeen that mounts on picatinny that also has AB logo printed on it. I am guessing this is the precursor to the newer but still old raptar that had the AB module on top of it.

Any and all help would be appreciate it.

v/r
Jimmy

I would use a diving board with a screw hole (SPUHR) so you can use the screw on the housing to secure it. Don't go crazy with tightening the screw. That is how I mount mine on my AI. It doesn't get loose even when shooting 338 LM. It is a better solution than using the tall picatinny clamp that comes with it.

What other information besides mounting do you need?

I don't know what the AB module is or does. Maybe @DocUSMCRetired can help you with that one.

appreciate it! you have a similar RAPTAR? with or without the AB module?
Years ago I heard that there was a "Unit" in the army that had epoxy some picatinny rail into their RAPTARs to prevent that screw from backing out and or shift.
I do have a SPUHR mount for my other scope but I wanted to use this on my SP10M that has a 3-18x MK5 with a Leupold mount-diving board thar does not have a screw hole.

Mine is not as old as yours and it has no AB functionality. I would like to know what the AB module does.

Mine is a Full Power unit so the IR and lasers can operate at higher power levels than I believe your's does.

Ok. But what are they and what do they do.
Turned the older model LRF systems into AB Elite. The Rapid Engagement Module. Was utilized by some units until they got the better tools. Their was a REM 100 and REM 200. One being a scope mount integration that allowed you to use any clip on without adding a lot of extra to the rifle system. They work with the RAPTAR, STORM, RULR, PLRF and some other devices. Has built in atmospheric and other sensors so you only need to feed it range.

Ive been gone for a few months but I am back. Thanks for the info. So I am guessing what I have is the "REM 100" since it doesnt seem to mount as stream lined as that REM 200 you have pictured here. I went ahead and put a battery on the unit and doesnt seem to turn on. Is there anywhere I could find a manual for it? the battery cap seems to be missing something (I will share a picture) so that might be the issue...otherwise the unit is brand new.
Do you work for Applied Ballistics? is there anyone I could call about this? I am still active duty military, we have some newer stuff now so this is just for personal use now.
