Lot of space alien hype

Many people that will outright violently reject the idea of God or similar supernatural beings, are all perfectly ready to believe once you say "Aliens"...
And if the "Aliens" tell us that we need to change all this stuff for "our own good", what do you want to bet a lot of folks get all fanatical about it...

There will be gift giving and celebrations galore when the most beautiful being ever created drops in claiming to be God.

They wouldn't even need to be the most beautiful beings or even claim to be God any more for most of the sheep on this planet.

Bet you if they just simply showed up, looking different than a human in some way (but not too weird), had a few cool Tech toys or special effects, and claimed to be smarter than us and will save us from ourselves if we only do what they say... all the Greta type idiots of the world and SJW Sheeple would rush to follow their every will and violently persecute anyone that didn't accept....... Almost like the story in some book somebody wrote a very long time ago......

Whos to say they are not peaceable beings.

Your automatic skepticism disgusts me. Same ignitudes that crucified Christ.

I believe in assessing the facts as they are presented and making unbiased, intelligent, decisions.

When dealing with "Aliens", it's a pretty safe bet to think they may not show up openly for the "benefit" of the local lesser developed native species of a planet.

I'm not really buying the whole travelers flitting about looking for unevolved types they can help just to "be nice".
You make that kind of trip, you are coming for something you want....

Bull shit.

Ive done a considerable amount of travel and NONE of it was either to harm or help others. I was just looking around to see whats out there. Like wise, Ive met many travelers/visitors, here, who were just looking around, not seeking to exploit or improve anything.

98% of the people Ive met were kind and decent. Its when religion, politics, or business/greed get involved that trouble starts.

Your view is negative.

Not my message but is my duty to warn. There will be plenty of time to discuss who's right and who’s wrong once all said and done.

Pretty safe bet the odds tilt in the direction of visitors being potential predators. A happy Star Trek reunion is pretty unlikely.

And as a “peaceable” human, this relates exactly how to what a real alien may or may not be? How much like humans are you expecting these potential beings from elsewhere to be like? Humanoid with human kindness as their overreaching reason to travel the stars?

While I understand how your viewpoint comes from your experiences, I would respectfully point out that your experience is not the same as many, both historically or even currently.

We are all lucky to be living in one of the longest stretches of relative peace that the western world has seen in a long time
A good part of the world is currently more prosperous than any time in history and as such the struggle for necessities is not as common.
You and most of us are some of the most fortunate ones on the planet to be born into probably the safest, most powerful, most advanced civilization our current history books show. When you travel it's for fun, not because some need compels you.

Your travels may have been without incident, but many folks are not. Some of my family members spent a considerable amount of time in other "less developed" places and saw very unpleasant things happen to others right in front of their eyes.

All across the world at this time, or almost any other time there is some raging ethnic cleansing going on or some life and death struggle for land, territory or resources.

If you go back across human history, and look at almost any time a civilization of greater advancement ran into a civilization of lesser advancement, the immediate results or near term results were almost uniformly negative for the lesser advanced civilization. (Now it could be argued that generations later, the descendants enjoyed a much better standard of living.... paid for in the blood/sweat/tears/suffering of their ancestors).

You also assume that other entities would for some reason have "Morals" or "Values" that you think they would have, making them "Nice". Take a look at our own planet, the animal world, insect world, plant world, microscopic world are pretty much all a remorseless kill or be killed struggle to survive and evolve with no room for the luxury of emotional actions. And that's on our own planet.
Even us have no problem using, controlling, killing or doing whatever we wish with species that are significantly beneath our intelligence.
Historically humans haven't had much problem doing that to other humans that they feel are inferior either. Our ongoing wars in the sandbox are more than enough evidence of that if you need something ongoing.

If some intelligence was to be purely calculating what is best for their own survival or their own needs you could expect them to very much act like animals. Check out what the situation is, decide if they are better or not than the competition, decide what they want and take it in whatever way is most efficient.

A lion may be sitting watching a herd go by, but that doesn't mean it isn't waiting till it's hungry enough and sees a target that is easy enough.

There is also a reason many humans automatically will assume the worst of the unknown. It's a very important survival skill built into our DNA. The overly curious who assumed all is sunshine and roses wound up as food... those who were cautious and assumed danger until proven safe tended to survive to breed another generation. If you prepare for the worst and all turns out to be good, then you did great. But if you assumed all would be the best but it turned out to be the worst... well you are on the other side of the fork.

I think perhaps a good British Sci-Fi series said it best when they said "The universe is a hungry place. Hunger looks a lot like evil depending on which side of the fork you are on".

no matter what world peace or a cure for death , the politicians would find a way to mess it up in washington to make them self a boat load of cash .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buqtdpuZxvk

How on earth can you predict the behavior of alien life. The implicit assumption that they will think like us and have the same morals and values and philosophical beliefs is utterly ridiculous.

Life on another planet would have faced completely different evolutionary paths.

To think otherwise is pretty naive and rather bigoted

I didnt 'assume' anything, only putting forth hypothesis. Im just trying to entice you out of your very narrow view that the only way things can be. is the way you perceive them. I appears that in this case, that effort is as futile as trying to illuminate a a frightened leftist that a firearm is only an object, and has no will or action of its own.

I concede. The entirety of the infinite universe is a carbon copy of your opinion.

I give them about 6 Months from the time they get here, and they be eating gas station hotdogs, watching internet porn, and looking for job like the rest of us .
.

So you think we can defeat them by supersizing them into obesity fueled heart disease?

Who knows? Why would you automatically assume the negative?

the dimacratic socialist party is a far more insidious enemy than any alien attack or terrorist plot .
and yet Hollywood still has hard time coming up with new movies rather than remaking and destroying good old movies .
Its harder to imagin making up 1/2 the things the dims do on a daily bases . Asteroid destroys town killing million or Democratic govener passes laws against law abiding citizens making them criminals while usurping the constitution starts civil war .

Obviously none of your traveling was with the military or using public transportation on a daily basis..

Some tyrant will perceive any visitors from space as a threat to their stake/position/authority/wealth or whatever. It would not take much for them to use a nuclear weapon against the threat and then all bets are off for our world.

Possibly, or perhaps try their best to be the one that gets all their technology so they can increase their power and offer them anything they want in return for advanced weapons....

You know... ask the aliens to give you the big gun that can destroy planets so you can use it on the Russians......
Who needs the good package anyways......

You know.. it’s a lot more likely that gov starts manipulating people to think there are aliens. Project bluebeam I think.. before I went to the military (early 2000s) I had a book put out by darpa wanting bids. They were actively seeking bids on holographic projectors. I’m not saying there are or are not aliens.. just if you don’t trust your gov now I wouldn’t start just because e.t. Shows up and hides out in drew Barrymore’s backyard shed. If you can’t believe anything coming from the media, and Hollywood can put out stuff that you can no longer tell if real or not, then I wouldn’t go believing any thing Uncle Sam or mommy pelosi have to say.

I'm actually a big alien and fringe bullshit buff, but I don't put much stock in anything. More like a rabbit hole I frequent than anything.

I will say this, and I say it a lot, "If I knew for a certainty that a man was coming to my house with the conscious design of doing me good, I should run for my life." —Henry David Thoreau. Any visitors offering anything to us kindly are of more potential detriment than one who would rain nukes from orbit.
