I have now a FFP / Mil scope that I think I like. Subtensions seemingly not as fine but I accept the G3 and can see it.
I dial it back because of tight eyebox. Not an issue as it has a lot of magnification for me.
I want to relegate this to a short range varmint rifle and clone it with more forgiving eyebox on an action gun.
What scope fits this description?

What mag range and features are you looking for? I always thought that scope had a pretty forgiving eyebox. I have one on an ar10 and love it. Want to see tight? Try a Leopold mk4.

Trijicon AccuPower 1-8x28 might be even more forgiving, I have one on an AR15 and like it. It's mil/mil ffp. Warning this scope is heavy though.

nothing compares with the LRTS/LRHS in that price range. (800). You have to spend twice that amount to find a better scope.

similar features , better glass, better reticle, better eye box........ Kahles k3-18i. It’s only 3-4 times the price however.

DMR II Pro 2 ,I have heard is not a better scope than what I have. 21x on the top. 16 or 18 x 50, better eyebox in this range would make me happy.
I think I will put in more time behind this one. I do like it otherwise.

The 3-18x50 Forge will have a slight advantage, but if that's not your thing then you'd have to step up to the DMR II or DMR II Pro. Eyebox on those is about as forgiving as they come.
Make that DMR II PRO reticle illuminated and keep the price the same and I would be a buyer. I love the thicker reticles these scopes have. Just dont like the DMR II CA. The example I had was the worst I have ever seen and in fact the only scope I have ever used that I noticed it so much I couldnt deal with it. An illuminated PRO would fix that for me.

As of now the only way you'll get what you want is with the illuminated XRS II.

Is the DMRII Pro much better image quality when cranked near full inclination, because the DMR II I had was horrific when dialed near max elevation.......image quality degradation to the full degree.
