Magneetospeed sporter and handguard length

I have a magneeto speed sporter and an ar15 with a 18in barrel and a 15in handguard. Can't quite get the spotter mounted between the handguard and the brake. Anybody have anyway of dealing with this without buying a smaller handguard or shooting without a handguard?

I have an 18” ar with a 16” hangaurd. I use the rail mount adapter from magnetospeed

MK Machining and Wiser Precision both make magneto speed mounts that mount to your rail and extend to the end of the barrel without mounting them directly to the barrel.

You may want to call them and see if they’re compatible with the sporter model

But no adapters work with the Sporter do they? I thought it was just what you get. You have to upgrade to (now) the V3 to use adapter sets, right?

MK Machining makes a Sporter adapter for their rig

I don’t know if Wiser or Magnetospeed produce one for the sporter

Yea! I have the Sporter because had to go cheap, interested in this. Looking...

Looks like through mk I would need the v3 mount and the sporter adapter which would be as much money as buying a new rail, in the 150 range

Both work well with the Sporter and the full deal. The Wiser is simpler and less expensive, the MK Machining has more adjustability.

By the time I spent all this money, coulda/ shoulda gone with the Laradar.

Thanks, I think I am going to go with the wiser, not bad for $100, and I like that i can attach the display.

I tried with the mk Mount. Couldn’t get it to work. To be honest it’s a bit of a hassle to adjust.

ehh don't feel to bad. There's a lot of people with labradars that like using their magnetos instead.
