Anyone running the magpul prs stock? thinking about swapping my collapsible for better length and cheek weld. Pros and cons needed. Thanks in advance for input.

Re: Magpul PRS stock

I have them on a few rifles and love them. Easily adjustable and comfortable to shoot from.

Re: Magpul PRS stock

If you're looking for a heavy stock to balance out a front heavy rifle that is also adjustable for LOP then it will be a good choice. The adjustable cheekpiece isn't very functional though since it is too far back on the stock to be of use, but it has to be this way to clear the CH.

Re: Magpul PRS stock

I have several PRS stocks on various rifles. They are excellent stocks that offer a ton of adjustment range to best fit you as well as your cheekweld with various optics.

The weight can be an issue depending on your application for the rifle, but it isn't all that bad. Depending on which coll. stock you are running now, it may not be that big a difference in terms of overall weight.

Re: Magpul PRS stock

I have one on both my precision ar-15 and OBR (make sure to get the right one if you are putting it on a 308 gun). I would still buy a third, its the best option for a stable stock. The only downside as mentioned is they are HEAVY.

Re: Magpul PRS stock

I like mine alot. I have a DPMS Carbine where the old stock was too short for me, and couldn't get a very good cheek weld on. The PRS solved all those problems for me, plus it's very stable when shooting prone, or from the bench.

It also balanced out the rifle quite well, I've got the 16" heavy bbl which was a little front heavy to begin with. If I had another AR platform I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Re: Magpul PRS stock

The weight never bothered me...excellent, first rate peice of equipment. Take a look at the Accu-shot monopod, I use one of them on my PRS equiped AR and it really works great for steady prone shooting. I dont know how they get away with it but there are chinese knock-offs that are less than $100.00 at gunshows which are not bad at all, quality is pretty high. Appear to be an exact copy minus the Magpul logo and name. Personally, I gotta have the real thing but they look good and servicable.

Re: Magpul PRS stock

This is something that may be happening to to some of you fellows.

I e mailed both Magpul and JP Rifles in order to see if they were working on an extended adjustable comb. This would be for any side charging weapon. I find that the existing comb is placed too far back on the stock and is useless with the way I place my face on the stock.
