Bwaaaahahaha.
She needs to quit, be advised that she is not cut out for the job, be fired.
Dude is posturing on the ground with one through the heart and then she pulled her gun. Well, after the squealing like a bitch
Thats just mean. She got really tough with the citizen witness...after she quit squealing.:rolleyes:

Well, Thelma brought a gun to a knife fight and would have lost if not for her partner.

She broke all of the rules in confronting a potentially violent suspect who is wanted for questioning in an earlier stabbing. In my old upstate AO years back one of the residents, a 70 year old Army veteran held a prowler he had found in a neighbor's yard at gunpoint for police with his shotgun. Prowler had a butcher knife which was not found until officers frisked him while he was on the ground and secured. At no point did the armed homeowner even go within 20 feet of the dude. Just held the shotgun trained on him and gave him firm verbal commands to not move, stay on the ground, face down, hands and arms out, etc., while his wife in the house behind him called the police.

Huh... she's either a hero with PTSD that'll spend the next several years sunbathing on a pontoon boat collecting checks, or an accomplice to murder looking at 20+ years.

She's definitely not a chick that bit off more than she can chew though. Never. Not in NY.

Mental toughness: fail. This is where a sane person decides to evaluate their career choices and their personality and notice that the incongruity between them is not tenable. Not everyone can be a computer nerd that's perfectly comfortable with eye bleedingly tedious and thankless work and not everyone can be a member of the elite paramilitary organization known as Eagle Scout and not everyone is cut out to be a cop. Needing to go to a safe space after having been attacked and your partner protecting and serving the shit out of your attacker is an immediate fail. The first time I got shot the thing that came first to my mind was how pissed I was that my pants now had a hole in them. Then the, "shit, that hurts" then the "Oh, I am going to beat your ass for that!" That was not mental toughness on my part. It was stubborn stupidity but I've come to learn that the two can be usefully interchanged most of the time.

Hmmmmm..I really have no comments other than yes that was a dangerous and stupid deal on her part, especially if she knew this persons history and knew he was armed with a knife. With that said, cops approach be unknown everyday. Anyone at any time a cop interacts with and is feet or less from could potentially be armed with a knife or more and go crazy. Easy to armchair QB after the fact. And it’s nice to know we have so many adrenaline pumping cool headed people on here that wouldn’t be the slightest shook after this situation. I like how the dude that shot the suspect didn’t even offer to help out, he is just kind of stepping back and acting like he is controlling the scene without much of a care to the suspect while she running around like crazy.

I'm confused.

What did the other officer do? She moves backwards, starts making stupid noises and all of a sudden dude is on the ground flailing around.

Did it not pick up the audio of the gunshot or was he tased (why?) or something?

Pretty much that same scenario happened in the 90's in Austin to a friend whom a neighbor lady called saying their was a black man in her yard. He told her to call APD while he grabbed his custom 1911 10mm and held the prowler at gunpoint. Except APD arrived and made him lay on the ground before arresting him and the prowler jumped a privacy fence and ran off.

True story. The friend was a highly decorated Army Col. and famous former head of Delta Force.
APD had it in for him because his security company competed with APD on contracts for security gigs plus he was a real man and for that they hated him.

Did he, by chance..... 'match' the suspects description?

(I had to ask....)

Bitch was so shook she couldn't put on her gloves.
Complete and total failure.
I don't fault her for that, when in situations even with training, after it's contained sometimes people shake a little. The screaming like a little girl and being a beat cop in the first place is her fault. She has no business doing that and she puts Everyone else in danger as a result. Men can utterly fail too no doubt, we all saw that in the worst most horrible way. Females are not built to be successful at being a beat cop, period. Men and women's are not the same and they never will be, the continued attempt to force men's roles being done by females and females roles being done by men is a plague on society. It has and will continue to destroy our society .
