Mammoth Sniper Challenge - Park City, KY

Re: Mammoth Sniper Challenge - Park City, KY

The wind class is going to be the Friday before the practice weekend. The side match is the Friday before the match during check in day.

Re: Mammoth Sniper Challenge - Park City, KY

For this night fire event are we going to need Night Vision or will we have some sort of artificial light to somewhat see?

Good question.

If its not required will it be allowed? Would it be beneficial?

Re: Mammoth Sniper Challenge - Park City, KY

The final shedule for the practice weekend(including the wind class), schedule for the match, and squad list will be posted later this week or no later than the first of next week.

Got some awesome news today from a sponsor.

G A Precision is donating a rifle for the match.

This match isn't even here yet and I'm looking forward to the one in the summer.

And Katie!!!! I haven't beaten her in almost a year now. The only tactical match I haven't lost to her was long range and now I'm gonna lose that. Good thing I'm going for the experience and to have fun. Even better that I have no pride left for her to take. J/K guys. It's great to see the future of our sport and to know that they are fine representatives. Counting down the days to the practice weekend. Hope to see many of you there.
ETA: I can't lie. She has already beaten me at a long range match also. I have nothing left.

Re: Mammoth Sniper Challenge - Park City, KY

Okay, guys we are about a month away. I will be at the Fort benning 3 gun this weekend but will be back on Monday to answer any questions you guys have about the match.

I will answer questions to a certain point but will not give information on the stage designs.

If you have any questions ask away. I will answer them to try and help any one out for the match. I will be able answer them via phone internet over the weekend.

Remember there are no dumb questions, the only dumb question is the one that wasn't asked. The worst that can happen is I won't give you the answer your looking for.

My goal is to try and make everyone enjoy the match. I know that it is impossible for that to happen, but my goal is to make 90% happy and really enjoy themselves. I am just being realistic
because some will say it was to cold, there wasn't enough time to shoot the stage, can you believe he had us crawl into a hide site to shoot, then the best of all(my gun is capable of shooting 1/4 MOA I DON'T WHY I CAN'T HIT ANYTHING).

Re: Mammoth Sniper Challenge - Park City, KY

Question: Do we carry all of our gear(pack) when we run the stage or leave it in the staging area and run the stage?
Thanks

This has been covered a few pages back, see the "Tactical Lawn Chair"

It boils down to this... Whatever you start with on the first stage, you must finish all stages with"

I you want to bring a pack, cooler, chair, or sherpa and leave it in the staging area then that is fine. But if you wear your pack on the first stage, then you have to wear it on all stages.

I was planning on bringing a folding chair for instance to sit in while everyone else is shooting, that i have no problem carrying from stage to stage, but I don't want to keep it with me while i'm running a stage. </div></div>

That is fine. You can carry a pack, chair, kitchen sink, whatever you want from stage to stage. But once your RO says "GO" and your on the clock, whatever you carry with you on that stage must be with you on all stages.

So bring a pack or chair or whatever from stage to stage.

Re: Mammoth Sniper Challenge - Park City, KY

Just to let everyone know, we now have a total match sponsor.

Barrett has come on board to take this spot and I am extremely happy to have them as the total match sponsor.

It is known as the Barrett Mammoth Sniper Challenge now.

Pretty sure it filled up awhile ago. I think you can still submit for standby though.

Re: Mammoth Sniper Challenge - Park City, KY

Just got home from the practice weekend. What a great time! The weather could have been a little better, but the shooting and socializing was great. Joe and his crew really do it RIGHT! Special thanks to Joe and Ryan for helping all of us newbies learn to read the wind and spot trace better. Your help was greatly appreciated! I can't wait for the match!
