In my view this changed on Aug 1 1966, might also accept Nov 22 1963. Sure other things happened before this date but this is when television and the amazing power of it was shown to us for the first time. Everyone on the planet has seen a woman climb onto the trunk of that car. We also saw in real time RFK, Jack Ruby.
However on Aug1 '66, we saw a "regular guy" again live, real video of what was going on. And it has been non stop after that.
TV brought real death and destruction every night from Vietnam. We got a nice "clean" war on TV where no one got hurt in desert storm a few years later. No bodies torn in half, no legs here and arms there. A TV picture of a box exploding, or at worse video of an AC130 with little ghosts moving on the ground, again not people.

Have you ever garnered the mental acuity and inquisitiveness to ask yourself 'Why' rather than quote easily slanted statistics and condemn outright?
Perhaps we could clarify positions here.
-What I say is that
1-its not only unfair, but in correct, to categorize an entire race by the actions of a portion of that group. Secondly, before making any thesis or judgments one needs to look into why a situation is or appears to be. as it is, and if not optimal how to improve it. Simple, analytic, reasoning.
2-It appears to me, that what you, and those who hold your position, are saying that simply because a portion of a group, are responsible for a significant problem, makes the entire group inferior and degenerate, and the only factor to be considered is their color and racial background, excluding al other elements?
Would that be an accurate assessment of your position.
Just trying to understand.
Personally, regarding my position and a solution, I dont see a feasible one, which leaves mostly sub optimal outcomes.

Charles Whitman/UT Tower.
Whitman was also one of the scoutmasters at Camp Tom Wooten Boy Scout Camp where I went to summer camp in the summer of '66. He was an RO and instructor on the Rifle Range where we shot.
Austin was small and concentrated enough back then that you could brush by the same person in a multitude of ways. Whitman bought a case of .30 cal. ammo for his M1 carbine he took to the tower at the same hardware store we boys

My first trip to Austin was likely 71 or so but I remember it being a big, friendly, University town, much like the one I lived in in Virginia. Nice mix of city, county, and college. Used to love hanging at Barton springs. Then it got popular.

Let's not make excuses. Black people commit more crimes per capita. These are not slanted statistics just the reality of the situation. Now if you want to state there is historical wealth disparities between races and financial propagation is less prevalent among black people...then sure.
I've already studied the why I am just simply stating it is not a small portion of the black community. There is a severe culture issue plaguing the black community.
This isn't a few bad apples scenario. Individuals should be judged individually but that doesn't negate the trend.
I will grant you the problem does come from a culture issue. You make a passing remark about financial disparity, without even beginning to scratch the surface of the one simple question I asked. WHY? The answer, the reasons and root of that problem, goes FAR beyond financial disparity.
You say you've studied the WHY. Tell us. Why is there such a cultural problem. Dont just go with "Break up of family values, or some surface problem, really get deep and tell us where the problem started. Why does it exist primarily in the cities?
As I said above, I dont see one, a acceptable solution. The problem has gotten too large, and too complex, and I fear only a total breakdown will change things.
Crime statistics of the wealthy vs. poor, it is not solely financial but that is a major driving force. The workable solution is obviously reparations...duh lol.
I don't care about the solution because I do not live in an area surrounded by degenerates (no not racial) thus I am not directly affected. Living in BFE has its perks.

Well thanks for the clarification, and at least statistically (IQ) youre correct. And Asians are (intellectually) inferior to Askenazi Jews. Furthermore I couldn't give 2 shits why the situation exists. What I care about is that it certrainly does exist in spades and is ignored all the while villifying every white conservative male as a domestic terrorist for believing in the the Constitution and being patriotic. Yeah, I have great black friends who are very good people and additions to any area as well....doesn't change the fact one iota that the race is absolutely more prone to violence and crime as a whole. It is also very location oriented I believe. Population centers see far more of it.

This problem is cultural. The people shoplifting and gang-banging and robbing are doing so because they think it is okay or justified. So, how do we get people to change their culture? Especially if there are no consequences to bad actions? There is no reason to stop stealing and the people in those neighborhoods kept stealing and the one store this lady I saw talk about had been set on fire during the mostly peaceful protests.
I think culture should change to value fathers and mothers and fathers provide guidance. But I do know that will be corporal punishment. As a kid, I learned to behave in order to avoid an ass-whipping. Then, later, realizing the error of my ways, spankings were no longer necessary because I could then empathize with who might be hurt by my misdeeds. IOW, as a child, butt whippings will continue until behavior improves.
It was not all beatings. When I did right, I knew it and our mother was very protective of us. If someone like a teacher wronged us, she would say, and I quote:
"When I am done, you will wish to God you had never met me."
Not a threat, a revelation of the future. And it worked whether the person was a church-going person or an atheist.
Also, she would say, "May God have mercy on your soul because I will not."
I am a bit more mellow than she was.
But a culture that does not have even that is responsible for what I see here.

Before Pres Johnson did his Great Society, where he incentivized non-marriage by giving money for each child out of wedlock, most black families were married and were educated, whether in a segregated school or not. Thomas Sowell, who wrote "Black Rednecks and White Liberals," was born poor in Harlem and went to an all black school and got such good grades and later became a professor fellow of economics at Harvard. So, it had zero to do with skin or even having ancestors from Africa. It had everything to do with what his mother and community expected of him. The culture he grew up in was hard-working and studied hard and worked whatever jobs they could get. Culture.
So, forcing Walmart to lose so much money that they go out of business in order to avoid closing the stores is not going to help. "This is why we cannot have nice things."
People need to expect better of themselves and value hard work and smarts more than stealing.
The problem originated before that. After getting their freedom the black folks were free but had no home to speak of, so the migrated north to the industrial cities where there was work. Sadly the prejudice followed them and soon 'White Flight' took the money, the jobs, and the education to the suburbs. So the inner cities were left with no jobs, no grocery stores, no educational system worth noting, and today that comes out as no hope. With no hope, what have you got to lose by looting WalMart?

Because it does not have a GD thing to do with skin color and everything to do with culture and self-expectations. Realize more for yourself and ignore the naysayers. And that works for anyone.

Plenty stayed in the south, working on the farms because they were skilled at it and could now get paid.
Going north didn't always help. People could be racist anywhere, not just south of Pennsylvania.
And the ones I meet int he south (country not city) are generally damn nice people, I avoid all cities, especially northern ones, and try to avoid the north in general, so cant comment.
I find nice people where I am. I work in a big city. The people in the office next to us talk and sound like good old boys. Who just happen to be black. They work hard and are decent. That is what they expect of themselves.
