Gunsmithing Manner stock cracks

I would assume you plan on redoing the bedding for your action, if so do a repair on that area.
Kind of looks like the action that was in it was making contact on both sides of were the crack is and when pulled down into it cracked it.

You don't need that piece. Cut it out, or leave it, and carry on. Or cut it out and glue it back in. Not much you can't "fiX" on a stock with epoxy.

IMO. I would just leave it as is unless I was bedding it. Then I would put some epoxy on the crack and hope it ran down in as it cured. I would just do that because it would be easy.

You can remove some material and refill it but it will probably crack again. You could put a cross bolt in it when you repair it and it might not crack again. Or you could cut that crack out and leave it open like McMillan does.

This happens all the time right in that spot. Cross pinning the stock is how you prevent/fix it. We've been doing this on almost every composite stock we fit up for a few years now. Does not matter who made it, they all do it with the core material. X2 on the light fill stuff. Drill a hole, stuff a 1/4-20 screw in it with epoxy, let it cure, sand it smooth, paint. It'll never be trouble again afterward.

Got this in trade...can it be fixed or can it be shot as is?
Please contact Tom Manners before you do ANYTHING else! A shooting buddy found the same typer issue on an older Manners T5a and Tom repaired the stock at no charge.
IMO, you cannot ask for a company that stands behind their product any better than Manners Composite Stocks.
