From checking out some comp videos here lately looks like lots of guys are running the T4 which if shooting prone most of the time I think this would be better. But these guys are shooting from a lot of improvised positions. I would think that the T2 would be faster for rapid adjustments of the the stock butt because it is angled.

So what are pros and cons of both and which one in your opinion is better suited for matches. I know it's best get behind both and get a feel for them and if anyone is willing to volenter I'm around the DFW area often.

Also is there anyone who has switched from a t4 or t2 and got a t6, perferably someone that competes in these matches but if not let me know what you thought about it anyway?

Well not a Manners T5 but a McMillan A5 which is very similar, Manners MCS-TA, T6-A, and three T-2A stocks. The angled butt stock is why I went with the Manners stocks. Makes elevation adjustments super easy and with rabbit ear rear bag very stable. You can set the rifle up on target and get up put someone down behind it and it will still be on target. The T6-A is the most recent addition and may become my favorite. The narrower front fits the bi-pod better and is a bit easier to grip. All the Manners have the mini-chassis which saves time and money. Have shot them off about anything match directors can come up with and see no disadvantage to using them. Where they really shine is prone.

Thanks for the feedback. The T6 is making it's way to the top of my list, plus I like the idea that the bottom side of the for-end is angled for elevation adjustments.

I've recently been using a tactical stock with a flat butt on the bottom with a hook similar to an A-5 and it's taking some getting used to, adjusting the Bi-pod legs a lot more. But then again I've only put a few hundred rounds down range with set up so I just may not be used to it. I just thought in a prs match an angled butt would make for quicker adjustments. But with so many top competitors out there running t-4s and A-5 s I must be missing something.

I agree with Bronco I have run the T5, T4, T2, and most recently the T6A. The T6 has become my fovorite for just about everything at this point. I think the T2A is a close second and I just didnt care for the T5 and T4. The angled butt section is what makes the T6 and T2 more usefull for me.

Muley, how's that T-5 it's definately at the of the list for looks and that thumb hole looks pretty comfy as well.

I'm on my second T5….I love the comfort and feel of the T5, but I keep an open mind for improvements. I love the idea of the angled butt on the other models, and may have to try one. I am definitely open to hearing why more of the big players don't run a T5.

Thanks for your input.

Same here, I was at a match last year and out of about 50 competitors I saw one T5.

Interesting…..I would like to know if it's the thumbhole or the lack of angled butt that deters the competitors. I am generally not a thumbhole guy, but the T5 is in a different category (for me). If we keep talking about this, I may have a T5 up for sale :p
