I received one of these the other day and was curious about the history of it. Any help would be grateful. I'm new here so I'm sure this has been talked about, but the threads I found within the hide still isn't exactly what I was looking for. I can add pics if needed, but the camera is down right now.

I did find a couple of websites with info about it. But I don't know how to read the markings on it. The perfect world would be, if someone around me, "Georgia" would know about it, and I can bring it to show. Thanks for the help in advance.

Re: Martinni Henry

They even have a poem written about them -

When your wounded & dying on Afghanistans plains
And the women come out to cut up what remains
Just roll to your rifle & blow out yer brains
And go to your God like a soldier

Taught to me as a young recruit by my platoon Sgt back in 1982 or 1983. Its from a poem by Rudyard Kipling. Kind of unusual looking back on that now some 30 years later in the light of current events.

But alas, I digress, what caliber is the magnificent old girl chambered for ?
