No argument about the "personal shoppers." My wife will put in a curb side order for many items- generally those things that you don't need to grade. However, she added onions to the order recently. We got a bag with an obviously bad onion in it. Quick call to the store and removed from bill, no questions asked. Sure, we didn't have onions, but curb side delivery is really just a convenience as we can be doing other things and still be getting the grocery shopping done. How much is your time worth? I know what my employer pays for an hour of my time. It is a fuck ton more than the nominal fee to have a high school kid pull Bounty paper towels and Charmin off the shelf. Go into the store for produce.
Restaurants don't make it in a good economy. Hell, 50% fail within the first year, and many more fail within 3-5. But, the real restauanteurs figure out how to survive in any economy. We have a pretty swank restaurant close to the house- you know, real table cloths, servers in ties, "would you like to have a glass of wine at the bar while we prepare your table?". They have 3 people dedicated to curb side delivery from open to close. I'm pretty sure they aren't hurting as much as they could.
You're just not dedicated to seeing your barber survive.
I ditched "my barber" more than 10 years ago. How hard is "#1 on the back and the sides, and bring it up into a high blend?" Not so hard that my wife couldn't figure it out. Then, when I could no longer ignore the forming bald spot I took it down to the scalp across the board. If your barber wants to survive, he should cut women's hair. That is where the money is, and won't do it themselves- at least not long term...
