One of the gun-grabbing members of Michael Bloomberg’s organization, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, recently found himself trying to lure a man into a sexual encounter through the liberal use of alcohol. When the charm and alcohol didn’t do the trick, James ‘Jay’ Schiliro (R) decided to go a different route – firing a handgun into a wall in an attempt at intimidation.

The mayor who, as the title suggests, is against illegal guns, was forced to hand over his firearm collection, and has been charged with several crimes.

A member of the Michael Bloomberg-sponsored gun control organization “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” has been arrested and charged in connection with a handgun incident at his home.

James Schiliro, a.k.a. Jay Schiliro, the mayor of Marcus Hook, a small town in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, faces charges of official oppression, reckless endangerment, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, and furnishing a minor with alcohol. He surrendered to authorities on Thursday morning, and his attorney declared that “we intend to fight these charges.”

Schiliro, 38, allegedly ordered a local police officer to bring a 20-year-old male friend to his home, where the mayor plied him with alcohol, and made sexual advances which the man refused. Schiliro allegedly brandished several handguns and fired one of them into the floor in an apparent attempt to intimidate the young man, who reportedly was in fear of his life.

The mayor was freed on $50,000 bail and told to stay away from the alleged victim and give up his stash of firearms.

When the man repeatedly refused, Schiliro, who as mayor controls the police department, started to pull out handguns, informed the man that he was “going to be a hostage,” fired a 9 mm bullet into the wall and said that he’d ordered police to stay away from the house, the report states.

And an article in the Daily Local News indicates the mayor tried to dump his firearm collection, selling eight weapons shortly after the incident.

According to the Examiner, Schiliro was one of 600 mayors who recently signed a letter asking the U.S. Senate to enact tougher gun laws.

Government "Officials" and employees, at nearly all levels, are completely out of control: absurd pensions and benefits, no meaningful measures of performance, protected by the loving and coordinated collusion they maintain with media (Who often are the same people, same party, relative, sexual partner, etc.), and the power to stifle any criticism or scrutiny by "Nobodies".

The bulk of media is a lost cause. They have forfeited their constitutionally protected role of guardians of our rights. The fourth estate is now a fifth column.

The facts in Mayor Shiliro's case will likely reveal that, like the Paterno case, the Lewinski affair, Benghazi, Fast and Furious and on and on, etc.; the media will be found to have known of this behavior, suppressed the truth to maintain access and friendship with those in power, and only now, reluctantly, are forced to disclose it because of the blatancy of the acts.

The first amendment was not intended to enrich and ingratiate the press and public officials who are no longer public servants. And I dislike referring to them as public servants if there is little risk of personal injury, or loss of fortune, related to their daily work.

I do not tolerate any public employee comparing themselves to military, at risk law enforcement and emergency personnel. For all of the rest, it is merely a career choice and no more worthy of emulation than an accountant, a welder or a blacksmith.

I will try not to take offense at your statements but it is casting a very wide net when you say "employees." As I am not elected, I am an "Federal employee" but I can tell you that I am held to performance standards for my actions twice a year, mid-term and final annual review and there are consequences for not meeting the minimum standards. I work for the Department of Defense, specifically, the Department of the Army, and have for nine years and before that 21 years in the Army. So, before you cast an extremely wide net with the term "employee" I wish you would clarify who you are speaking of.

To begin with, I wish this man a long stay in a cell with "bubba" and am not one bit surprised at the hypocrisy shown here. Next, a mayor is ELECTED, not a public employee. Please don't confuse the two. Second I love the popular disdain for the "public employee" so much when my salary(which is 20%+less than those in the public field in my state) has been frozen for years as a fed employee, and I stayed. I have watched my opportunities for advancement jerked out from under me due to decreasing budgets but I "stayed" because I liked what I did for longer than I should have. I am no longer tolerating the b.s. I am hearing from even "friends" I have about my job. I have been held to high performance standards and also have reviews bi-annually. My bonuses for exceptional performance have been about one every two years and after months of working OT on detail the bonus was about 700.00$. There is an incentive for you. I am a P.E. in my field. I will be looking for private sector employment. Many professionals in the govt. currently are. So the next time you drive over a bridge or live downstream of a dam enjoy knowing the people like me who insure the public safety are looking to let you find a replacement. Good luck with that with all the salary cuts, freezes and the fact that due to hiring freezes we are eliminating positions frequently when people leave their position for any reason. As a result of cutbacks we work harder with less staff to accomplish the same work. Many of us are fed up that the public constantly buys the medias lies about our 6 figure salaries, (I don't think the state head of our agency even pulls in 6 figures.), when the average federal employee is making in the mid 30's to 40's. You could draw a big circle around DC and find most of those paychecks over 75K/year. The people I work with in the federal gov work hard as a general rule and are all payed less than someone would be in a private sector job for similar work. Most .gov employees are specialists and very well trained and knowledgeable in their jobs. I can't wait to see our infrastructure in a decade. The professionals are leaving the .gov like me because the lies are bought wholesale, and we are tired of hearing it, and suffering financially for it. Man it's great to know your appreciated. With all the scrutiny of the media on other issues its hard to believe the public buys the overpaid, lazy .gov employee line wholesale.

It sounds as if the was one police officer involved-driving this guy to the mayor's house. I have serious doubts that this was the first time this sort of thing has gone on, the firing of the weapon, may have been a first-the rest of it no. $50,000 seem very low for a gun involved violent crime, attempted rape, etc. I would like to see other "like" cases (same type of crimes charged) and how high the bail was set. As more facts come out, I'm sure more stink will come out of this thing. The mayors lawyer will fight this at every turn, you can be he [the lawyer] is a piece of work himself. The entire PD in this town needs a hard look by the FBI, the mayor had no problem having one of his officers transport this guy to his home, how many other cops have transported victims to this mayors house? My bet is most of them.

It is indeed a broad brush and certainly there are exceptions.

But I have been on this rock a good while and have interacted with unaccountable gov. employees at all levels; City, county, state, and federal. Elected, appointed, executive, legislative, judicial: it is entirely out of control and I blamed those responsible along with their enablers in media for the problem. I neglected to point out the legions of parasites, across the wide demographic spectrum that helped create it all with their undying need for a Daddy figure to provide for them regardless of who actually pays for it.

Government employment was typically associated with modest pay and very good benefits. It now equates to amazing compensation packages and un-sustainably generous pensions. And then there are the unions...For white collar government workers.

For those functions of government that only the government can perform, I recognize there are good people doing fine work though even they must be scrutinized for productivity, effectiveness and efficiency. As to those functions better handled by the private sector, the government need not apply.

It was a broad brush statement to be sure but you would have to want to be offended by it as my ire ws directed more at those who wield power and those who cover for them. And I singled out those who actually perform a service for this nation rather than those who merely say they do.
