Before I get into my experiance with Andrew McCourt (username FCS), I need to give a little back story.
Every year I shoot our regional 1000 yd benchrest championship. They guys I shoot with are solid gold good people, fun to be around and very knowledgable. Since I'm not in a position in my life to dedicate more than one weekend a year to 1000 yd BR, I don't have a BR rifle. I show up each year with my BlackOps (actually it's an old school UGSW) Kukri in 308 with a S&B PMII 5-25. 18" Kreiger barrel, built just as listed on the BlackOps website.
It goes without saying I don't win, but I sure amuse the hell out of the other shooters with my rig. I generally hold 7-9" groups with factory ammo.
Fast forward to now. I always shoot factory Hornady Superformance Match 178gr BTHP ammo. Why? That's what Mike suggested and it's done pretty damn well for me. This year I was unable to find any in stock to shoot, which put me in a pinch for the match this coming weekend. So I put a WTB ad on the Hide for some Horandy ammo.
This Sunday I received a PM from Andrew with his phone number asking me to call him, of course I did. He asked how he could help me with my ammo situation for the match. I explained to him I shoot the match for the fun and camaraderie and wasn't able to bring home the gold. He was still on-board and spent quite a while learning what he could about my setup, he then offered to run me a batch of 300 rounds and ship them out the next day. AGAIN, he spent his Sunday running a batch of ammo for a guy he's never met so I can show up to a local match without a chance in hell of winning. Now I don't know if that means much to you, but is sure does to me. He has a day job, so he ran this on one of his weekend days!
Today I got a tracking number, it's on the way and he has extremely reasonable pricing. A true gentlemen, businessman and example for us.
Of course I don't have group photos to show as the match hasn't happened. But based on the amout of knowledge he had on the phone I'm sure it's going to perform better than anything I've shot before out of this rifle. I'm sure Andrew has forgotten more about ammunition in 10 minutes than I'll ever know in my life.
Andrew has a life long customer with me. I'm sure anyone who knows Andrew will not be at all surprised by my experiance, if you haven't had the pleasure to deal with him I'd highly recommend you do.
Thank you Andrew.
