Honest question - OG post says

When I got my ACC I was frustrated that they didn’t offer a one piece top cover.

What's the call for a top cover based on? I know a lot of this kind of stuff is marketed for running clip ons, but Imma venture a guess that a very small percentage get used for that. Is it just for aesthetics, or something functional? Am I missing out on something by not having a top cover on my gun?

Its for aesthetics, it works as a mirage shield and also protects your hand from a hot barrel. If you like to shoot with a C grip it also gives you a place to grip over top without influencing barrel harmonics
