Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a lightweight arca rail from https://www.salmonriversolutions.com/shop/ and skip the carbon fiber rail.

Carbon fiber can have perfectly reasonable wear properties; I wouldn’t be too concerned about that. They’ll probably bias some fibers in the clamp direction and use a harder resin with post-polish.

So what would be the current lead time if we preorder now vs waiting until an official release date is announced?

Also what is the max OAL when folded? Trying to determine the barrel length required to get it to fit in a backpack.

It's hard to say, a pre-order will secure you one on the first production run. There may be more available but only time will tell.

It will vary depending on the inlet and not all are confirmed at this time. Check back with us closer to launch!

There is an M-Lok slot (1.5 actually) on top of the forend. It should be possible to make an NVG setup work.

If you order now, then you get your name in the queue and it'll ship out according to order date once they have officially released. If you wait until they are officially released, you'll just be further down the queue assuming that more people backorder between now and then, which is likely.

Folded OAL is approximately 22" with the MDT Carbon fiber grip installed, so hopefully that helps you make your decision :D

There is M-lok up there and the height as been optimised for the R700 SA RH inlet to co-witness with NV optics! Would make a sweet critter slaying rig with NV optics.

It might be, it should look like the image below and you select folding for the folding hardware. Keep in mind, this is a new stock, and it only shares a similar mechanism to the SRS-XF.

Oh gotcha, I think I miscommunicated, I'm looking to get the carbon chassis with the standard folder that comes with the ACC. Will that be an option?

Likely not on the website, you will be able to do it separately, but the SRS-XF on the HNT-26 chassis would likely cause the balance to be quite strange.

So I finally decided to pull the trigger on a new hunting rifle build, if we order now would we still be in the first batch and if not what would be the estimated lead time? Hoping to have the rifle for hunting season in October.

It depends on when you placed the order, without that it's difficult to say. October shouldn't be an issue though.

Something else to keep in mind is that the XLR comes with an Arca forend already. Adding that on to the MDT will likely make it heavier.

MDT says weight with folder and arca forend is 31oz.
XLR comes with Arca built in and 4.5 oz folder is 32.5oz.

31 OZ is the folding ARCA forend on a long action which is going to be your heaviest combination.

It depends on what action length you mean. If you mean a Defiance Deviant in the standard medium action (standard Remington 700 SA footprint), then you will be good to go. If you mean the XM (medium-length action), then there isn't an option right now in the HNT-26, but we will likely add one in the future!

Likely it will happen, but we are still making sure the demand is there. So any left-handed shooter who is interested in an HNT-26, please take the time and fill out our product request form. While 11% of shooters are left-handed, we need everyone to show the demand and interest in a chassis. It's always tough since we push for left-hand options, but if there are only 1 - 2 requests for a chassis in left-hand (and you have to look at those numbers with a bit of skepticism), it makes it harder to pitch. The more demand we see in our official channels makes a product that more much likely to happen. So please do!

Being super-helpful, I just clicked randomly on one of the other chassis, which I know may not help in this case, but at least lodges another lefty for you ... :)

We will see, it depends on the demand for it, it's a pretty costly product to develop so we are careful there for sure, but if there is demand we will make it happen!

There should be an other option as well, but that works, as long as it's in writing and not just on social media it all helps!
