I'm looking at adding the RCBS die to my Dillon 550B. The bullet loading window grabs my eye. Any suggestions? Or would the Redding or Forster be a better fit for the progressive?

I feel like the rbs dies are way overrated imo. I have used all three and prefer the Forster of the 3 but the Redding works well too.

I run both the Forester and the Redding Micrometer Seating Dies. Both are very consistent and do cost more. Depending on what your goal is will drive which to get.
As for the die with the picture window, there are two things of concern to me:
1. Additional access point for dirt and grime, which will effect the consistency
2. Strength will be compromised, which could result over time, in twisting or bending of the die resulting in poor concentricity and consistency.

I use this Forester micrometer seater as well. Just watch the adjustment screw. I was trying to figure out why the hell my adjustment wasnt working. Stepped away for a bit, came back and realized the lock just had been loose.

Rcbs gold medal or competition dies are far from a premium die. The competition one was cool in the 1980's because it was shipped with a wooden box. It stopped there.
There is only one size die body, same die from 17 Remington to 30-06, maybe larger, not looking. So if 223 is your game, the seat stem will hang down a mile and is unstable as all get out. Smaller cases needed extended shell holders in reg "O" presses.
The only benefit you will realize is not putting your hand under the shell plate to seat a bullet.

I have all 3 you mentioned and use them on a Dillon 550. I prefer Forster and Redding. I do use RCBS with a bullet window to load 338LM. The bullet window makes it much easier with the large case in the way.

I have the Forster micrometer die and love it but I do think the lack of custom seating stems that fit specific bullet profiles could be an issue for some.

The Hornady match grade dies offer the ability to swap out seating stems and are worth a look. Not as big a fan of the micrometer as it can be hard to see the markings.

I have multiple seating stems for our forster die seating dies. Its pretty easy to shape them to the desired bullet you are trying to seat
