Hi everyone,

I just ordered a Leupold Mark 4 6.5x20x50 with the TMR reticule and was wondering if anyone uses the mildot master slide ruler to help them out.

Thanks

Alot of people do. It's an excellent tool and the batteries won't die

Re: Mildot Master

Great tool, but dont get so accustomed to using it that you forget how to run the numbers with a calculator.

LRF's and MDM are great aids but I strongly feel that its good to practice often without them.

Re: Mildot Master

Must have for any long range shooter to keep with their data book and gear.

We have them in stock in the tool section of our website!

Re: Mildot Master

Is this a good system to use to learn how to use the tmr reticule or is there something better?

Nomad can you tell me how to get to the website you mentioned.

Re: Mildot Master

Hunter, just click on the banner at the bottom of his post that says Impact Data Books. Also look at his RETS or Range Estimation Training System. It helps you learn how to break down the reticle which is a vital part of ranging targets.

As mentioned by Anchor you should know how to use the mil ranging formula as well but the Mildot Master is an excellent learning tool as you are practicing, which is a good thing.

A hint though that some don't learn until later. Use the right side window to line up your target size and mil reading then read the range in the left window. The right window breaks the mil down more than the left.

+1 Read this in the instructions when I got mine, and that's all I've used. The MilDot Master is a good piece of kit and the battery life is awesome.

Re: Mildot Master

I attended a shooting course a while back in which I left my iphone in my car at the airport. Crushed a new scientific calculator I had bought for the course in my drag bag while enroute to the course, which left me with the small calculator, I keep in my logbook. It was the middle of summer in Oklahoma and that calculator died the first day due to heat stroke. The only thing I had left was my Mildot Master, which I used throughout the remainder of the course. The Mildot Master worked flawlessly. I found I was quicker with my Mildot Master than my spotter was with his calculator, so we both used my Mildot Master. It really is an amazing piece of kit once you learn how to use it. It will give you more information than just solving a mil or moa relation formula. It is well worth the $30 they cost and as has been mentioned, the battery life is great.

Re: Mildot Master

It surely founds like you fellas have got it down, this will be my first experience with a mill dot or tmr reticule.

I sure appreciate all the info.
