Re: Mini Cannon Firing and Destroying Targets

Dad made a scale deck cannon in the early seventies.
A bb fit in the bore and we found fire-cracker powder worked best in it.

Needless to say he wasn't impressed!

That design in the video is a mortar.

Who is handy?
Not hard to make one.

Re: Mini Cannon Firing and Destroying Targets

I have turned out a cannon on a mini lathe, about 3"long with a 1/4" bore. Just right for a #4 buckshot. I'll have to try a smaller one like in the video next.
I have a few cannons. largest being 5/8" bore. Fun shooting.....

Re: Mini Cannon Firing and Destroying Targets

I have actually built one of these mini-cannons. I did some sweet machine work on the barrel to make it look like an actual cannon, then I silver soldered the two aiming pivots on each side. Mine also fired bb's. The cheap 2x4 that I dremeled and mounted it on broke and I haven't had the time nor the desire to try it again. I fired a pellet once but it didn't go so well.
