Greetings,

Trying to figure out what scope I want to put on my nrl22 rifle.

I borrowed a atacr f1 7-35 which can parallax to 11 yards or something. My budget isn't going to support that kind of money. But I have been looking at something like an athlon Midas tac 5-25, which will parallax to 25 yards. Other options are like a kahles 5-25 or 3-18, which do 25 yards also, again those are higher priced options.

So ultimately I'm wonder if 25 yard minimum paralax is enough or if I should look for less

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

They never shoot closer than 25 in nrl22 so I wouldn't look for less.

Have you check out the Vortex Diamondback Tactical? Parallax of it is down to 10 yds and even at MSRP, it's a heck of a good scope at its price point. But sometimes it can be gotten for $350 or less.

I guess I know if you back off the magnification they will typically paralax pretty low. What are you getting on that pst as far as magnication on close targets? How close are you setting up targets? I can't remember how close the closest was because I'm back to nights and boycott waking up before noon. Oops.

Gotcha. Ya I couldn't go either because i worked that night before and the night after. I kind of forgot the paper targets at 25 yards from the other month. I think the kyl was like 35 yards or something.

What magnification do you shoot 25 yards at and still get crisp resolution? 10ish, 15ish? Just trying to get a feel.

I don't get crisp at all. I've done it at all powers. Usually I just crank down in the moment so I'm not really knowing offhand what power I'm on. just turn it while on target till I feel its enough. I think one time I pre-staged around 12X but usually I'm sitting around 20-24ish power.

I've been having flier issues that haven't been really resolved. I no longer dial beyond 100yds. Not sure if its ammo/temp or a barrel/stock pressure induced issue or scope tracking or what....but some times I'll do crazy ragged hole 10 shot groups and other days it all over the map. Doesn't help I fucked with just about everything on this rifle over the last 12 months. Two Leupy Mk4's have came and went. now borrowing a PST. Have changed ammo completely from what it has been for the last decade. Added a bipod stud and bipod.

Next year I hope to have some money scraped together to do a bergara barrel action or maybe one of the other 700 clone actions.
Get a Tikka T1X :)
