Thanks for the heads up! I do like the PR2. I'm still vibing on my LMT for now, so I think I can wait to really stretch its legs. I'm going to throw my Arken SH4 on it this week. I went a full year without leave and I'm starting 26 days tomorrow, so time to focus on some hobbies!

Glad to see that you’re not neglecting the most quintessential portion of the mk12 lol. Admittedly i get a little triggered when i see a mk12 without the aem/ocm. Don’t really care about much else of the build being clone correct but that part is a necessity to me.
Agreed, I am super excited. I built a whole bolt gun around that can with a taper in the barrel to avoid a collar.
I think you’ll love it. It’s stupid quiet. Admittedly had i known about the ocm5 I’d have gone that route to save nearly half a pound. It’s pretty absurd how quiet it is. Blowback is considerable but there are ways to mitigate it.
A general rule is that the optic should cost at least as much, if not 1.5-2x the cost of the rifle, rifle dependent of course.
At least for scopes you don’t want to break that will be put on top of a serious round count rifle. I’ve broken multiple scopes over the years, just broke one last fall that the designer warned would break, but I love the reticle, FOV, and clarity so much I thought I would be a special snowflake, even after breaking a previous sample of the same scope (discontinued due to crappy QC in Korea).
I’m a big fan of Japanese LOW and Vortex Viper PST GII and Razor line for durability on semi autos.
There are some cheaper ones on the market that hold up, but there usually is a compromise in clarity, features, warranty, reticle options, turret set-up/options lacking, etc.
Finishing the final nuances on the build. I know it’s a bastardized mk12 but I like it!
It's a CQD sling mount, with some leftover paint from a prior life.

Few weeks back at an NRA match I shot a 20-round string at 500yds to see how the upper would do. Shooting with sling and glove only, pretty happy with the results.
I think we’re talked about this before. Some concern about the rail and deflection or shift with sling tension? I have not had any. What’s your take now?
And what happens with shot #10? Could have easily been a 190

Yeah, that was me. I recently switched the Rock River Arms NM trigger to a Geissele NM and the 1st stage is 4 lbs with the 2nd stage breaks at 4-3/4 lbs. Still learning that hold at 2nd stage and the 3/4 lb break. The RRA was more 1/2 and 1/2.
I think I agree that the scope rail/tube deflection under sling or bipod tension is not an issue. Additionally, I was using 77gr instead of my normal 80gr which is more forgiving on wind calls. Overall, the Mk12 is pretty close to the results from an NM upper. Quick comparison of last month's NM upper:

I agree on the Geissle NM. Could be tweaked with springs but it’s easy to ND, especially under stress. I have one in one of my units and I have 4 - 5 SSA-Es . I also use my 77gr mag loads when I take it out. I shoot it with the can on as I don’t care about the NRA scores anymore.
Love this rifle but it’s heavy. Very comfortable to shoot.
Wow, I didn’t get that garbage. I ordered and got a shipping notification a day or two later. That sucks.
I think they marked the price wrong, they had it listed at 1450 and I guess realized their mistake after I ordered mine.
I kinda miss my holland clone but it didn't do anything my other 16" didn't and the guy who bought it REALLY wanted it lol
Very true which is why I’m going to eventually cut my 14.5” to 13.9” and get a surefire RC2 then probably put an atacr 1-8 on it instead of the Gen 3 1-10 i have now. Whatever can be done to further differentiate my stuff is the goal. So 11.5”SBR, 13.9” do it all, and a 16” dmr.

The only one I really really miss was my 18" mk12 mod 1, I'll build another using a Laruetard quad rail eventually just waiting for them to go on sale or a used one to pop up.

Picked up this upper last week. Square forge upper. WOA Barrel. Never used one of these barrels but they seem to have a good reputation. The desire for a CLE Bartlein is strong though. We will see how she does! I'd love to track down a 2.5-10x24 for it but will probably throw my Mk5 tremor 3 on it for the time being

Sweet rifle, I'm currently acquiring piece by piece for my mod h. Which lupy is that, if you don't mid me asking. I don't plan on going clone correct with optic nor mount at this time. Just cant justify price for correct optic compared to current glass.
Mk5 3.6-18 with the cch. Honestly the mark 5 is being used in service on plenty of mod 1s. I haven’t seen many mod Hs in the wild as of late. But i would bet somewhere someone is using one
Nice just weighing all my options (literally lol). Trying to get the best bang for buck with mag/weight/features/price.
I'm sure they are on someone's Mod H somewhere... Plus Mod H is best Mod by far lol.
Since I can’t find a NF NX 3.5-15 I will probably go with a MK 5 3.6-18

Is anyone here using a BRT restricted gas tube on their MK12? I have a to-spec CLE Douglass barrel that runs like a top, but is obviously gassy due to the Ops supressor design. I have no intention of running the rifle without a can, so I'm considering trying to tune it down.
NXS 3.5-15 are out there just gotta keep an eye out. I picked up two of them. One SFP and one FFP. FFP is obviously harder to find and usually runs more.
Not quite clone correct with a delta forend. I talked to Trajectory Arms, and they said they could bore an AEM5 to 6.5 for my grendel mk12, so I won't have to use the maverick forever, I think.
I love mine NXS F1, but the 42 and 50mm ATACRs kind of took its place IMO. 42mm with a top mount RMR ( I’m not an offset guy, so to that fucking VTAC barricade) would make a super versatile rig, though damn heavy.
Yes still looking kind of come to realization that a exact is not necessary but somewhat close.
