Monthly Sporting Rifle match RATON NM

Magnum rifle match is this Sunday, 16 Apr , go to the front gate and follow the signs . The gates to the firing position will be locked at around 7 AM when sight in starts and the match will start around 8 . If you won't be there before the gates are locked get hold of me and get the combo for the gate lock .

Match this weekend , the first AR match of the year will be Sat AM and SRM set up will start after that . Set for the AR match will be Fri afternoon , get in contact with Mike or I if you want to help Fri .

The annual 2-day Sporting Rifle Team Match is coming up on August 19 and 20. This match is great fun, but limited to 36 teams. Details about the match and registration info are available at the Sporting Rifle Match Webpage.

There is no cost to register - fees are paid at the match. Currently there is still plenty of space available.

Not the only person to say this and I will pass it on to Mike , there were moments that I feared for my safety after I told my squad that it was my idea .

No I was being lazy , the stage was already set up from the carbine match the day before and was the least amount of work to get up and running .

No chance in hell of a 6 showing up until a .7 BC 140 grain bullet shows up and by then there will be a .8 BC 6.5 so it still won't happen .

It was a good idea! As Mike would say "we're doing this like we don't know what to expect." When I deployed my burrito for a front rest on the can, I didn't know what to expect!

There was some lost and found on the trail from the Sept match . Get hold of Mike through the match website contact info or me here to ID what was found and arrange getting it back to the owner .

This is our last match for this year so last chance untill next Feb .

As previously discussed any rifle legal in the SRM rules is allowed with knowing up front that hits on distant targets can be hard to call .

I think Stage 10 will continue to be in up in the air until we find a permanent solution that we like, but otherwise the range card should be GTG. I wasn't there for the final match, but my understanding was that Mike K was not content with the Stage 10 solution that was tried. Chuck may chime in with more up to date info in the next day or so.

First match for the season is this weekend and set up will be at noon on Saturday .

I don't know if 10 is going to change this weekend or not but it will again at some point soon . There have also been discussions about moving 9 also to keep from having to wade through the swamp or lose stages when the creek is running .

Kolar don't do the internet and the way to get hold of him is the contact info on the match website .

Thanks Chuck, The match web site states 3100fps and I thought that was to change or did I misunderstand? Or should I contact Mike on that?

1st magnum match of the year is this weekend set up will be 3 ish on Saturday afternoon and the match will have sight in Sunday morning at 7 ish and match starts at 8 . The gates to the roads will be locked once we start shooting so if you think you'll be late get hold of me or Mike .

The fire danger at the NRA Whittington Center is going to be extreme this weekend. If you are planning to shoot the AR match, please remember that projectiles with any iron content are prohibited as they can cause sparks as well as damage the targets. If you are in doubt, please check your ammo with a magnet. You will not be permitted to fire any ammo with a projectile that is attracted to a magnet and we will be checking.
