Pretty sure that was proven a legit photo. The photog just happened to catch the ejected brass at exactly the right nanosecond.

There are firearms that send the spent casing forward, but none of my AR platform rifles/pistols would be capable of sending brass that far forward. Ever.

About 10-15 years ago some body made defence rounds for revolver like 38spl that shot a plastic bullet and reached velocities IIRC 2150 fps out of a 2-1/2" barrel. They showed pictures of them after they shot a ribcage and the destruction they caused and the plastic bullets would only travel 100 yards before falling to the ground. The bullets only weighed about IIRC 25-30 grains.

You just might need to use a gas check to keep melted plastic out of your bore.

Death Valley Nut and Candy Company in Beatty, NV still stocks these. Both the gum and the hard chalky ones that you can blow the powder smoke.

A group of us did a Road Rally / Scavenger hunt in the Death Valley area a couple of years back. This was one of the items. Just to keep the other teams from getting them, we bought out the store at the time.

I never did this anyway. No way I was going to stick my dirty finger in my mouth. Always went over to the fresh vegetables and run my finger down one of those wet stalks of celery. Problem solved.

It may have Brrrrrt capability, but it's not a flying tank. F35 only holds 220 rounds supposedly.
The Warthog 1,350 rounds. Fuck the F35. It's just a bomb dropping, missile sending hot rod that can switch to guns if it ever got in a dog fight. Not meant for close air support.
