Quit
I went to the counter and confirmed the flight number of that particular plane then asked the old man what flight he was on. Luckily for him that was his ride and I told him I’d overheard his conversation about his prior service, then informed him that was his flight to Anchorage. His eyes welled with tears and he started crying. It was a cool moment. When he walked out to the bird he looked like a happy young boy. I’m sure it was the highlight of his trip to AK.
Quite awhile back, Era would throw those two planes in the daily flight rotation between Kenai and Anchorage. I was waiting for my ride when they taxied one of the birds on the apron. An old fellow got excited as hell when he saw it. He and his friend started talking and apparently the one guy was a WWII vet and had flown on them in the past.I saw that plan land and taxi to our ramp in Talkeetna in 2002.
i dont remember why. But I remember the day.
I was in awe of her.
