Pics are nice!!!
Looks like it needs some ski gear vs snowshoes, but thats just my bias.

pow turns beat walking. ALL. DAY. LONG
Thank you. Delegated down for pics, as I was the sucker dragging the gear.
I use a pulk sled to haul all the camp goods and sometimes throw a snowboard on to goof off around camp.

Honestly, never been on a set of skis.. but seriously considering one of the split boards that goes from snowboard to cross country ski.

Pre fatherhood I spent a lot of time on skis.
Like 100 days a year or more.
Hunted from them even.

those splitboards are pretty darn cool.
If you want to save weight, look at the Karakoram binding design.
Not sure about OR, and usually some darn good deals on barely used gear here in Denver.

Or learn to ski....
When my kid was a baby, I used to take her on BC tours in no avalanche danger country. Had a Chariot kid trailer that the wheels came off to become skis and the tow bar to poles/waistbelt like a pulk.
She would love catching a little air on the firm trail on the way out!!
Great way to spend some time together outside and get her fresh air at 10k feet!

Well, that explains the logon name....

Sounds like I'm talking to Patrick Smith..
100 days a year plus hunting, that's awesome. I'm getting that count in for backpacking/packraft trips, but only 30+/- days are snow trips.

Learning to ski is on the list. Figured it'd be helpful before I got the splitboard.
Just looked up those bindings and those are rad.

10k lol, I'd have to chill on top of hood to get to that elevation.
So exactly when are you booting the kids out? So you can get back to skiing and drop the tired old dad bit.

no...same goes for "Hooter's" fried pickles...of course Hooter's has gone down hill over the last couple decades. Used to have wing night on Tuesdays, they were a dime each, now they are way more expensive, and not nearly as good. I don't mind the thick girl waitresses, I'm not there looking for a date.

She is almost 10.
I spend a lot of time outside.
Tons of it with her.
Getting her into backpacking, fishing, and hunting. Skiing too.
And she loves rock climbing.

No rush, enjoying it A LOT.
Great blessing.

That Old tired crap is from an old Mod who changed it.
He gone now, so I leave it as a good memory of him.

Im not old or tired….

Problem with fixing old cars/trucks is not the vehicle, it’s the owners. 20 years old vehicle is not a repair anymore, it’s a restoration project. Just had one last week. 2008 CL 600 with engine oil cooler leaking. Oil cooler sits in the valley under the intake. Catch is it’s a 60 degree twin turbo V12. On a 60 degree V configuration, (makes it narrower to fit) the intake port edges of the cylinder heads overlap the cooler. So pull engine, and all the gaskets, seals, bolts, and miscellaneous shit that goes with it…. $15,000.00 later.
Isn't that like a 50 hour job (book time)?
