I have a number of thunder jets stashed. My dad was the toy dept mgr at g.c. Murphy in richmond in the late 60's very early 70's.
I also have a friend that currently has a business dealing in old slots as well as a race track.
Back when we were all involved in slot car racing, a couple other friends put together a 4 lane scale mile ho track with a 16 foot straight away on the back side.

I gave that set in the pic to my 10 yo. grandson. I used to tinker with those cars for hours. Tear them apart, clean, lube, reassemble. Good stuff 😂

Mercurochrome was level 1
Merthiolate was level 2 for more serious
Iodine was the big dog level 3 and hurt as much as the wounding
Did nobody use Batcine? "Doesn't hurt the hurt". Uses benzalkonium chloride for it's active ingredient, and no alcohol. That is why those other three hurt, Mercurochrome, Tincture of Merthiolate and Iodine, all have alcohol in them.

I'm still at it...mostly racing the very popular "retro" classes the past 12 years.

This is the only remaining original 1960's "Sovereign" track, 220' long

Execution by cannon in Iran, 1890s

George Carter Stent described the process as follows:

“The prisoner is generally tied to a gun with the upper part of the small of his back resting against the muzzle. When the gun is fired, his head is seen to go straight up into the air some forty or fifty feet; the arms fly off right and left, high up in the air, and fall at, perhaps, a hundred yards distance; the legs drop to the ground beneath the muzzle of the gun; and the body is literally blown away altogether, not a vestige being seen”.
