Trade school? Why would anyone want to be a plumber, welder, mechanic, linesman, auto body man, truck driver, or anything else when you can get your master degree, be $200K in debt and make $15hr?
One of my Son's finished lineman school. 5 Months, pretty intense. Making double that Min posted, plus overtime - as much as he wants. I will see him this weekend. Will be fun to ask him "Is it fun to cut the power to the "intelligent, yet unemployed man bun crowd?"Trade school? employees are always looking at the company job listings and salaries for positions
it causes drama as you can imagine, and causes HR nightmares
usually the recruiter or HR will give the job seeker a 30% range on the phone before the first interview
I am not sure where you review job postings. I worked for the largest insurance company on the planet and we always posted starting and max salaries in job postings. If you go to Indeed.com and look at postings almost all of them list starting salaries, the ones that don't are cheap asses trying to get people in for an interview and then low ball them with an offer.

So you have no real interest in what your company is looking to hire? If I ran or controlled that portion of a business, I’d makes sure it met my every standard before I allowed it to go forward and possibly bring new blood to my organization.
Reminds me of an old saying
“You can’t expect what you don’t inspect.”
There comes a time when a company gets so large a single person can’t oversee every aspect. To a certain extent you have to put your faith others. Same as the military, you have to trust others to do their job.
That's why large companies are divided into divisions, sections and departments with multiple layers of management. Each is responsible for the functions within their scope of authority. That is also why people that are ladder climbers don't give a shit about the people anymore, they are insulated from the people by layers of management, bullshit and pie charts.
As much as it seems like a waste of time and money a company of a certain size needs;
Proper org chart
Department budgets
Middle management
It’s impossible to be involved in every decision even if it’s “important”
Additionally if a person in the C-suite is making 300k a year that’s 6k a week etc
It’s a waste of time and revenue to have that person do anything that doesn’t make the company a lot more than 100$ a hour.
Need to put smart people in the proper positions with a plan and budget which is attainable.

Imagine the uproar if someone had destroyed the book from a 'different' religion (I am an atheist and I think that this is bad!). You should treat others as you wish to be treated and don't force your beliefs on others.
The flip side of that is when you find a “superstar” if they have the determination most of the time they leave and start their own business.
By default a company will never have the best guy for the job (with in reason) as they know their worth on the market etc
It hurts the brain but to be successful a company has to plan and function with “80%” employees as that is what will stay in the company for several years bringing stability.

You are correct. Many are running with employees at 70%. Over 59 years ago I was given a book at a management seminar:
The Peter Principle is a concept in management developed by Laurence J. Peter
The Peter Principle states that an employee continues to receive promotions to work in higher ranks up to that point where he reaches a level of incompetence. In simple terms, the higher the hierarchy ladder an individual goes, the more likely he is to fail in his new position.
Nothing has changed except for the incompetence of employees.

Faith and hope aren’t reliable methods. If you want something quality, you have to put quality into it. When a place/business gets to a point where they can no longer hold down QC, maybe they should start to ask themselves if they are growing to fast.
Reminds me of another old saying.

“Superstars” are usually smart enough to know when they aren’t being appreciated for what they do bring. When employers remember that, I bet retention will get better. Seems like the 50s through the 70s had good retention rates in business. Hell, for that matter almost all aspects were better because people had morals that weren’t bought by a dollar.
As far as not wasting time on small return projects. Sometimes those are the ones that keep your business running day to day.
Thats what you want with billions of dollars of our property. Not the best of the best, just the most "diversity" running the show. Seems to have worked quite well in our current government.
The other side of that is corporations plan on using the bottom feeders so they don't have to pay top performers what they are worth. Once employees reach a certain wage level they start getting pushed out of the work force because corporations can hire three bed wetting kids right out of college for what they make. Another thing corporations have completely lost sight of is employee morale. A happy work force is much more productive and uses a hell of a lot less sick leave and other time off.
Some advice for those of you working in the corporate world. You can and will be replaced and some point. Do not marry yourself to your job because it's like being married to a hooker, she is going to move on when the price is right. Regardless of your performance level or commitment to the company use your sick time and personal time off, use your vacation time, enjoy life and have a plan for the day they decide you are expendable.
For this technique you must leave the coil wires connected and rotate the engine by turning the key to start.

I worked with someone that could tell if a car needed wires/cap/rotor by putting his fingers in the end of the wires and cranking the engine. I also saw him pull one of his own teeth out, in the shop with a pair of pliers, because it was hurting
Who says it can’t be both? I use it for a stand for a few years, then totally build it…
