Damn, Barn......know you have the best of intentions. in fact, I know you're Tip Top with this. The wife and I had to put down the second of our two (sisters) Miniature American Eskimos about 4 weeks ago. It was long past time (16 years), but the wife continued to protest. The little girl's health finally got so bad, there was no longer a valid argument for keeping her propped up. We had the vets come to the house and do the green dream thing. Couple of very young ladies, I don't understand how they could do that job on a continual basis. They came in, prepped puppers (can't bring myself to say her name here) and the young ladies looked at me for the final approval. I gave the fucking nod. On the one hand, I hate myself for it, on the other, she was in misery and it had to be done and I'm happy she isn't suffering anymore.

The wife and I have vowed that we're not going to have any more pets, because it's so hard to go through that. OTOH, we have had pets all our lives and it's really hard to imagine going through life without that companionship. When it's been good (which has been the vast majority of the time), it's been very good. It's just so fucking difficult when it comes to the end of the road and you are forced to make the inevitable decision about your friend. It has to be done, but fuck, it hurts. My heart goes out to anyone/everyone that has to go through that.

Be well......

YES, YES, YES!!! One of my biggest pet peeves is "government gas cans." Only the government could screw up something so simple, so badly, while making it next to impossible to work around (but there are ways). I'll guarantee you there has been 10X more spillage as a result of these abominations that were supposed to "eliminate" it.

I bought some old jerry cans so I don't have to deal with the new CARB bullshit. A friend of mine bought Canadian Military SCEPTER cans and they are sweet!

Sorry for your loss mate, was not my intent to awaken memories. The last one we lost had several trips to the vet with no improvement, after her final trip I sat in the car park for at least an hour before I could make the 5 minute drive home.

No worries, it's actually good to remember. Unfortunately, remembrance also carries some pain with it. Nothing anyone can do about that.

Thx,

There actually a website that sells kits to convert your government gas can back to the old school gas cans. I’ll see if I can find it

That was the work-around I mentioned. They sell them at Tractor Supply, too. I have them on about 4 small cans and 2 5-gallon cans. They work great, but my only issue has been with the supplied gasket seal tearing up easily and causing it to leak at the base of the spout when pouring.

Before installing the cap the first time, rub some silicone LUBRICANT on the o-ring and reinstall it. That will keep it from tearing.

Edited:
Wrote sealant instead of lubricant

The only thing better than the SureCan in the gas pump itself. There is a vent hidden under the lever, squeeze the lever opens the flow valve and the vent at the same time. Fill through the big opening.
