And that's where we have been going wrong. Wow, cool we raised 53 million dollars. Their side has unlimited funds, BLM, free Palestine freaks, million man march.

We should have had every fucking bridge, or road leaving NYC blocked and shut down. They shouldn't have been able to move anywhere in that city.

It seems like just yesterday but 20 and so many years ago, this is how Budweiser used to advertise (just as an example for a company that had seemingly unlimited resources to perform market research on how we (the consumers) 'thought' publicly.

I only share this as one (of many) illustrations of how much and rapidly the landscape has changed. Crossdressing used to be the butt of the joke on mainstream television (think of the Friends series as an example) and now we're at the point where even questioning it will earn you some sort of phobic term. We've been as a nation placing people into positions not due to merit but rather because of their demographics that fit the current narrative and as long as they 'play ball' they have not only have the the benefit of playing ball but are now 'unquestionable' because of such demographics so double whammy I guess.

I'm still trying to figure out what happened to permit things to change so rapidly over the past 20 years or so- what I've come to accept as true anymore-

We've collectively lost faith- secular/non-secular affiliations not being included in that statement although there may be a societal link regardless. What I mean to convey when I say we've lost faith what I mean to say is nationally-

We've lost faith in our elected officials having their constituents' best interests in mind. We've lost faith in the belief that our nation's government is working for the "people" and exists for the "people" but rather accept that it's always been corrupt and we no longer believe that we deserve anything better. We've lost faith in our election process and whether our participation in such even matters. We've lost faith in our constitution protecting our 'inalienable' rights as well as whether even the term 'inalienable' carries any water let alone whether our day's youth even understand what the term 'inalienable' means. We've lost faith in accepting that our children deserve a quality education to learn such and that they should have been disciplined well enough at home to behave in the classroom and value education.

We've monitzed everything that used to be a cheap enjoyment. We have a society where just a generation ago- we could point out which house the gas station attendant/ seamstress/cook/butcher/etc. lived in, now we've accepted the narrative as a society that in this generation those professions are unacceptable and due to a series of poor life choices and as such don't deserve to have a house for themselves. Of course we still expect those very same services to exist but not to the point they can afford even the most basic of lifestyles or even rent on their wages. And we turn a blind eye that this isn't modern day Feudalism but now we have have the college educated class in STEM (not STEAM but I won't get into the "A" portion in this post) making well above median household salaries but can't afford a basic house either so now it's getting some news coverage and the national response is from those that got "their's" it's a dog eat dog world and if they haven't figured it out then that's their problem.

Alrighty- I'm done with that part, but what I really think is missing Nationally/Globally is the notion of "Hope" and "Wonder" By that I mean, that without "hope" why should we expect our youth to work hard when they don't have an incentive to believe that effort will lead to changing their situation? This is why Socialism is a failed system and always has been. It's also why so many feel the "Bern" and other such political promises because they're drowning and the party played into the game of pretending to not be part of the "establishment".

As for the "Wonder" part- how many here can recall the 1960's and the promise to put a man on the moon? The previously impossible acted as a lightning rod for our nation's greatest minds to come together and work towards a common goal to break what was previously held as scientific doctrine. And dang if we didn't smash through that ceiling and prove the 'science' wrong. After we did that for a couple of years- we gave up as a country and aside from computer advancements, shrugged our shoulders to every other pursuit and decided we'd just be happier with a new cell phone...

So yeah- apologies, this really was the short version but still a small rant regardless.

No need to disguise it, it's so remote and out of the way and on private land that nobody would know about it except the few club members who have been to it.
This trip has been a year in the planning to make it happen. But the good news is we are going up again sometime in July to do further repairs on it that we found on this trip, and try and make it last another few years.
We are also planning a hike to another repeater tower which is a bit closer to me, and you can drive maybe 60% of the way to it, but the climb is a lot harder I'm told where you have to climb a couple of sections of 6ft sheer face
