Both sit and collect dust in my oven's storage box. Part of the problem I think is I no longer have gas for cooking. It's electric "glass" burners. And I sure don't have wood burning, either. Hard to season a skillet properly on an electric burner.

Heat is heat. I've actually found cooking on my electric stove boils water faster and cooks faster because more heated surface area contacts the pan vs a circular ring of flame.So do I. Oil it first, then put in oven. In order to be "seasoned" you'll have to perform this oil-heat-cool cycle 3-4 times, or more. I recently did a carbon steel pan, but did it on the stove. Took a while and created a lot of smoke.
