I have lived in Nebraska for the past 64 years and I just do not remember the zombie stripper incident that Jenna Jamison brought to light in this documentary :rolleyes:😆

You never heard of it because it happened at the other strip clubs that you don’t go to, you know the ones with women strippers.

Who cares anyway.

What is China government going to do with my info?

What does Russia care about my social security number?

With the amount of hacks that go on daily to large institutions like Insursnce companies and credit cards that get fraud daily, it’s all there anyway.

Do people think that having my social all of a sudden makes the power grid less secure or they can bring down airlines with my pay pal code.

They are going to sell my house from under me? Steal my money insured by the FDIC.

We were hacking phone 20 years ago during the WOT, and magically the world didn’t implode.

People think too much of themselves snd how important they are.
Feel free to sign the fuck up. I don’t much care, I was just answering the question as to why the platform is under fire. I have no emotional attachment to the issue at all.

I think one thing that our security apparatus is probably worried about is the potentially compromising info China gets on certain young Americans before they work for the CIA, NSA, MIL, etc. or run for political office.

This type of info would be good to have for potential blackmail and to determine how an individual thinks, what their strengths and weaknesses may be.

I don’t think you and I need to worry. This is a signals intelligence battle between two giants.

Let’s say you are a senator in 2050. Through your current pic, China most likely has the ability to figure what an adult’s history is with an app like TikTok all the way back to, for example, they are 10yrs old. All this just with a picture of you, just like your iPhone figures out who you are, who your daughter is, etc etc.

I’m sure TikTok also collects IP addresses and other stuff too in order to connect the dots.

Any social media app is almost like having a powerful security camera in your phone. You feed it images, tell it what you like, and also importantly, tell it who you are connected to, who your friends are etc. China could also easily determine a person’s sexual orientation, fetishes, and other potentially compromising info.

There’s also the issue of China using the huge amount of data to train their AI systems to create deepfakes to create realistic-looking disinformation.

Of course, there is the possibility for the TikTok app itself to use its microphone and camera access to surreptitiously spy on a mark’s actions.

So, I think it’s reasonable for the US security apparatus to be worried about TikTok. I’m pretty sure China does not allow US app companies to run apps on Chinese national’s phones and keep their data centers outside of China, or to even have control of their own data centers inside China.

The US is a master of signals intelligence, of burrowing into the physical and software infrastructure of an opponent (or a friendly) and vacuuming up vast amounts of data. Afterwards, they sift through that data to figure stuff out about their opponents.

Again, this isn’t about you and me. It’s about limiting electronic vacuums on a global scale, about two giants grappling in the dark.
