Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

The Vaccine is made based on data 3-5 months old. 2016 they totally missed the target, but dealing with nature that will happen.
Suprises me how many people think just because it is 2018 and we have google everywhere that we have all the answers to the universe.

Fair enough. I own/ run a lawncare company, not an infectious disease research lab. Thanks for the “STFU” in kinder words. We all need it sometimes.

I have gotten three flu shots in the last twenty years. Every single time, EVERY FUCKING SINGLE TIME, I get the Flu. The only time I've had it in the last twenty years has been when I got the shot.

I'm not saying they're bad, they don't work, or anything else, but at this point I do not believe it's coincidence. For some reason if I get the shot it does the opposite to me. Have no idea why this happens, but it does, and I will never get one again.

My wife thinks I'm crazy for saying the same thing.
20yrs in the USAF, 20 shots, 20 times with the flu.

Been retired 14 years and had the flu just once.
The same year I decided to get the shot again.
Never again!

Wow, there's a bunch of people on this thread that fit this list.

When do you get the shot?
When do you get the flu?

Is it 3 days after the shot?

Do you think the shot gives you the flu?
Do you think the vaccine weakens your immune system?

Are you getting a cold or the actual flu virus?

You cannot get the flu from the vaccine. You can get the flu during the two week period it takes your immune system to generate antibodies against the viral strains in the vaccine.

That being said, the whole vaccine formulation process is a crap shoot. It involves largely guessing about which strains will make it to the USA or UK as the case may be WHEN those strains surface in those countries. Some years, they guess right, some years, they don't.

I hope you guys are wrong. I've never had a flu shot and, as best as I can tell, never had a serious case of the flu. My buddy is starting chemo and the doc's recommended that anyone who's going to be around him get the shot. So I got mine last week. I was overdue on my tetanus, so they jabbed me with that one too.

I, and my family, have all our vaccinations. I got like twenty vaccinations when I was sent to Africa. I did actually get sick from all those, but it only lasted about 48 hours, and I never got any of those diseases. I totally believe in vaccinations.

I did not get tetanus from a tetanus shot. I did not get TB or Polio from those vaccines. I am not some anti-vaccine crazy. I like science.

The fucking flu shot does not work on me, period. It somehow seems to make me more susceptible to the flu. This has happened time and again, and I'm done experimenting on myself. That's it. No further inference can be drawn. Fuck off.
