The store in Ogdon, right? Johnathon Browning is my 4th great granddaddy. John Moses's sister is my 3rd great grandma. Thems some tall fellas.

The rest of that page....

Mr. Browning then boarded a west-bound train back to his humble gun shop in Ogden, Utah, working out the gun’s details in his head and on scraps of paper during the several-day journey.
True to his word, Mr. Browning had a working prototype completed inside of two weeks and it was in Bennett’s hands well within the 30-day timeframe the pair had agreed to. (And Mr. Browning had $20,000 in the bank...a very tidy sum at the time)

The resulting rifle was called the Winchester Model 1892, and was offered in several popular short-cased cartridges like the 44-40 WCF, 38-40 WCF and 32-20 WCF. To say the rifle was an immediate hit would be a gross understatement. Cowboys, lawmen, exhibition shooters and adventurers alike loved the slick little rifle.

I have gotten three flu shots in the last twenty years. Every single time, EVERY FUCKING SINGLE TIME, I get the Flu. The only time I've had it in the last twenty years has been when I got the shot.

I'm not saying they're bad, they don't work, or anything else, but at this point I do not believe it's coincidence. For some reason if I get the shot it does the opposite to me. Have no idea why this happens, but it does, and I will never get one again.

I've gotten the actual flue only a few times....they guilted me into getting a flue shot when my first child was born. The only time I've ever gotten one...that's also the only time I've ever gotten pneumonia.

I get the flu shot. The fever, the sweats, the chills, that should be from street Tacos and bacon wrapped hotdogs sold off of a shopping cart... not the flu.

I have gotten the flu once and it was that damn swine flu. 6 days of feeling like crap

The flu shot help but it is not fool proof.

Same reason why many get the pneumonia shot-

And Tetanus shots

Do you know anyone who got lock jaw? ( from tetanus, not a hippy at a concert)

CDC reports a %12 success rate on 2016 flu vaccination. The formulation is a best guess as to what strains will be most prevalent in the coming season. They can put it straight in their sphincter as far as I’m concerned.

But did you get pregnant? The scientific process demands your data point!

Swine flu about killed me 12 or so years ago. it was BAD.
People here are about as educated on the flu and the vaccine as Bloomberg is on guns.
The flu travels from the northern hemisphere to the southern and back every year. As it does mutations/evolution happens (darwin, the strong survive type thing). On its way back up north when it gets to lower central American or so medical scientists take samples and bring them to labs in USA to start on a vaccine. This happened probably a month or so ago.
The flu is still mutating after that and they can never ever get it 100% right. The scientists have to do they best the can to predict what will happen. They have to start growing/producing the vaccine in October/November to be ready.
The mutations are why you can not get a life time vaccine for the flu like you can Polio, or Small Pox.
The Vaccine is made based on data 3-5 months old. 2016 they totally missed the target, but dealing with nature that will happen.
Suprises me how many people think just because it is 2018 and we have google everywhere that we have all the answers to the universe.

I was a transplant perfusionist for 13 years, in the industry (organ procurement organization) for 19 years. Every now and again you would get glimmers of hope in humanity such as this. I worked in death, no other way ot put it. I saw more people die that most ever will. Sanctity of life (human) is fading too fast in the upcoming generations. Ill save the animal life above human life soap box for another time. Thanks for sharing.

The OPO (organ procurement organization), those who match and medically manage the donors was Intermountain Donor Services out of Utah. Worked with them time to time when I would fly with recovering teams. Great group of people.
