I was arguing with a friend years ago about how the turkey bacon wasn't worth the effort. The advantages were so minimal it really wouldn't make a difference in a meal. Something, something about diminishing returns. Same with fruit juice. Mind as well have a Coke if you prefer. It's calories in vs. calories out and then you need to account for how 'nutritious' those calories are. And if you're worried about fat, don't. Especially if it's naturally occurring fat in meat and dairy. That fat is critical for your brain and is quite good for you. Salt should hardly be considered. Most people can process out what extra sodium they intake with no issues. And I'm a big believer in the 16:8 fasting. Stop with all the non fat, fat free, sugar free, diet this and that. Eat the good shit. Just less of it.

I think you are spot on Jefe. I read a paper a few years ago that showed a 5 point reduction in BP for a low sodium diet...whoopdeedoo. And other papers actually showing increased BP with very low sodium diets.
Saturated fat is solid at room temperature, not at body temperature, so this fat war is all based on misinformation.
I am doing the 16:8; more like 17:7 or 18:6 on some days, going on about 2 months now. I just got below 200 for the first time in almost 10 years today.

Did anyone else but me notice the loss of fingers. I have several friends over the years that lost fingers in their dally. Knock on wood it has never happened to me. When it happens it is fast and to late.
