There's a A&W here in my town, still does drive in service like that.I remember my parents taking us to this.
And getting a soda at the gas station out of one of these while my friends and I were out riding our bikes around town.
It ain't dead yet.

I’ve been in this guys shoes. Was working for a construction and crane service company and we did a lot of work on grain elevators.
We had to hang a conveyor in a concrete tunnel under a row of silos. Tunnel was 6’ tall and we had to hang ready rod from the ceiling.
Being the newest guy on the crew, I was “nominated” to drill a million 3/8” holes.
I don’t know how many holes I drilled, but I know I had to go get a drill bit cause the one I started with got so small we couldn’t put the anchors in.
If it looks stupid, and it works....it's not stupid. "Best practice", maybe not...but who are we to judge?
Parents would take us there on Saturday. We would split a root beer float. Then buy a gallon of their root beer. Glass one gallon jug we brought from home. Drink it through the week and bring the jug back the next Saturday for a refill.

Funny - when I first saw this, I thought it was satire. Then, after some of the replies, I looked into it & realized it's for real. Like the turkey broadheads.
My God, those things go all the way up to her neck. Must be painful to carry around......
It'd be interesting to see what she looks like standing up.
It is much closer to a "surgical strike", but someone still has to decide what level of collateral damage is acceptable.
