It's probably one of the biggest problems we have today; the excuses and whining and the 'its ok to quit if its too hard' mentality.
One of the things in football (not hand egg!) that a lot of people don't understand is that while the game has overall gotten faster, the amount of physicality and contact 'allowed' now is way, way less than it was even in the 90s. For Americans, its roughly the same for the NBA and NFL; if you look at what was allowed in the 90s to what is a call 100% of the time now, same idea.
People used to get rekt. It was hard. You got beat up the entire time. Plus you still had to do everything they still do now.
There's comparisons to older players where stats are the major factor. Doesn't even tell the story. Yet for example, in the 70s, German Gerd Muller had a 1 goal/better per game lifetime AVERAGE across German league games and international games where he went to win the World Cup. Yet somehow Ronaldo or Messi are 'better'. LOL Those 2 would have been fucking manhandled and raped to death if they had played during that time frame.
Also....this is Franz Beckenbauer (greatest player of all time, basically invented the way defense is played now but did it in the 70s/80s; he was basically a fucking alien). This is him getting back on the field after separating/breaking his shoulder/collar a few minutes beforehand.
Imagine this happening now.
