The idea was that older people whose kids had moved out and still owned the family 4-5bd house would be forced to sublet the spare rooms or be taxed heavily for having an "empty nest" while the various governments twiddle their thumbs on approving new housing developments with a massive country wide shortage of builders and apprentices filling the holes left by retiring builders.
And they try to pretend illegal immigration his good for the economy. If the economy was good, the private sector would be building house for people who wanted to buy them as the population naturally increased. When the population increase is nearly entirely unskilled people collecting other peoples tax money and/or working under the table.
In the ocean, there’s no place to hide. Especially for a mammal.
