LAKE CITY, ARKANSAS 04/02/2025

One of the strongest and longest track tornadoes on record for the 2025 storm season so far. Spawned from an explosively growing supercell that matured from a clear blue sky anvil with a single downdraft column in just under an hour to a sprawling superstructure where individual features of the storm are too large to be seen from the ground, fueled by convective hot air pouring in from the Gulf. At 6:20PM, a violent rope vortex with a characteristic 'drillbit' base was spotted by ground crew, already spinning at high F3 strength and quickly grew into a several hundred yard diameter wedge with high F3/low F4 rotation. Note the horizontal snake-like subvortices extending out from the wedge like tendrils. The wedge was on the ground for well over half an hour, categorizing it as 'long track' before it gradually vanished and was swallowed up by the RFD behind the mesocyclonic wall. This storm was responsible for a number of injuries around the Lake City area. Footage from StormRunnerMedia.

ETA: The SRM crew's call in to the local sheriff's dept immediately upon visual confirmation of tornado on the ground prompted a proper Tornado Emergency, the accompanying sirens and cell phone alerts to be issued for Lake City, possibly minutes ahead of what would have happened if they waited for Norman OK Severe Storms Center to make the contact. These few minutes definitely saved lives and prevented more people from getting hurt.

FUCK that....I was heading out of Stillwater, OK one day in my 65 Mustang. Cell phones were not really a thing and I damned sure didn't own one. I had a Blaupunkt AM/FM/Cassette deck rigged so there was minimal alteration to the factory interior. It was sorta ghetto but it sounded good. The AM factory radio also worked just fine but I had the good radio on FM. The tornado warning was going off and it was black as night in the rear view. I just gassed it a little more. When I got to the old farmhouse I lived in, there was a message from my girlfriend on the answering machine (also a cassette..haha). A tornado had hit her apartment complex. Her building was pretty much untouched but about 50 yards across the parking lot another building had the exterior wall ripped off. It was weird....the wall ripped out but some little table with napkins or a vase just sitting there in someones apartment like no big deal.

Hmm... Now THIS is an oddity for sure. I'd call it the 'platypus of firearms'. It's got the bird's head grips of a Colt Lightning revolver, the semi-rolling block action of the 1866 Remington Rider Parlor Derringer, a tubular magazine of a lever rifle, and a pump action. In a pistol. From Tippmann Ordnance, the creators of the .22LR Gatling Gun. This is their upcoming "Pirate Pistol". Cal: .380 ACP.

I can DEFINITELY see this as a niche piece that would be more used in movie and TV production and secondary as a range piece. It would fit quite well into the post-apocalyptic sci-fi "Wasteland" western or space-western genres...

Well... WHY the fuck they Stop it there ? .. most definitely needed a Under-fold stock, or side-swing, and 1" extended barrel length for threaded muzzle for suppressor. for Pump Action 380acp SBR .

It was hell of a day. I live 10 minutes from there, and drive through every day, on my way to work. The destruction it caused was, unbelievable.

What a missed opportunity to chamber it in 10mm or .50 AE
