I was in the other room last night when this was on. I thought for sure it was the real deal, until I went and rewound it and saw this.
I'm not a big fan of Fallon, but he was good enough to fool me before I saw it.

Well while we are on the subject of pickers...

I grew up on Doc Watson and his son Merle picking. To me there is nothing finer than to hear the late great Doc Watson fingerpicking:

I tried to find some Tony Rice videos but they are hard to come by with out a lot of BS talking or his instructional series he did. As anyone who is into flatpicking knows Tony is one of the best, but I know there are a lot of guys out there who may not have had the pleasure as I did of growing up around it. If you are new to it check out some of Tony's music.

Ill just put up one more because it also was one of my favorites as a little boy listening to music with my mom and dad. Norman Blake is also a very well know icon in the folk world and for good reason. My dad would tell me stories when he visited Norman at his house in Nashville when I was little. So guns and music (bluegrass, because to a little North Georgia boy there was no other kind) were my primary influences in developing me into me. Just thought I would share that with ya, like anyone cares haha

Norman Blake (my favorite song of Normans) Church Street Blues:

I hope ya'll enjoyed the few bits of music I grew up with, and hopefuly someone who hasn't heard any of this before can get a taste. Carry on with your normally scheduled programing...

I still have some Norman Blake on vinyl.

I love Windy and Warm, great song Doc is just so smooth!! I have my 8 and 9 year old girls listening to him and they love it. Their favorite right now is Deep River Blues which also has a lot of great cross picking. Good stuff!!

While she may be easy on the eyes and a hit at the local karaoke bar, that's about as far as that one will go. However, with today's routine lip-syncing and pre-recorded concerts, I am sure some technician out there can make her sound good

What, no briefcase and bag-phone? I was pissed off when they stopped making the StarTac. Best phone ever.

I may have been the last human being using a StarTac... Kept mine until 2006....

Great phone!

And not only did I have a brick phone at one point... I had a bag phone, too, back in NASA days. It was like being Crockett and Tubbs!

Great pic Hermosa...

Cheers,

Sirhr
