That's a lot of money for 80% of the semen produced by a bull and not even own the bull.



a few years back i sold semen interest in a bull i owned, 6 shares for $5000 each, u got 300 straws to start with and the rights to be the only one's with offspring out of him for 2 years, then after that, he was open to the public. No ownership of the bull. This was for a 1 yr. old bull. One good heifer more than paid back the shares for each person. That bull made me over $100,000 in 2 years. That's peanuts compared to this, But as someone in the business for quite some time and has been on the "know" for a few of these deals myself, many times bulls like this are sold before the sale ever starts, agreements are made. Then they just run the bull price up to make things look good. The first offering of a bull sale , or production sale, sets the stage for the rest of the sale. Not saying that's the case here, but.............
