So you would be with Seadrill right? That was the Discoverer Clear Leader with MAN/STX. The one I mentioned with 6 18 cyl wartsilas was the Deepwater Horizon semi submersible. I retired from the oilfield in 2017. Don't miss it a bit.
Small world for sure. I was on the Clearleader from the shipyard through the first year of operation. At that time I worked for NOV. But yes Im with Seadrill

No Other Vendor lol
I went to the DCL during the moratorium after the DWH met its demise. I had been home from the DWH about 4 days when I heard about their "undesirable event."
We better STFU in this thread though or somebody will be taking corrective action against us. :)

Perhaps I can appease the thread monitors with some pics.
The first pic was taken of the DWH from the deck of a workboat. This will give an idea of how high off the water the lifeboats were. I want to say about 50 feet high but don't remember for sure

2nd pic shows how high the waves were during hurricane Ike 9-10-08. Lifeboats are to the right side of the pic. The highest handrails in the background are on the main/top deck level. As with all Dynamically Positioned (unmoored) rigs we did not evacuate for storms.

Another view for perspective.

I do not, not yet.

In 25 years, I have only ever owned trucks. Ford should have never stopped making the 302. But it came back in 2012, if memory serves. I had one in a 1971 F-100.
They still make a 302, but now it's called the 5.0 - the Coyote engine (yes, 2012 to present). They put it in the Mustang and with a different tune in the F-150.
It's an absolute party (regardless of what the LS guys tell you) and it has a soundtrack to match.
