Member Link Up Moving to San Antonio Next Month

I am moving to San Antonio next month and looking into getting into shooting/hog hunting for the next few years I'm assigned there.

If you dont allready have a concealed carry I would recommend getting it.
Other than that there are some great hunting opportunities in that area of the hill country ranging from many different types of exotics to more hogs than you can keep ammo on hand to shoot them with.

I have my MD and PA CCW. I'm military and move around a fair amount. Im more recreational with shooting/reloading at the moment. Multiple trips overseas prompted for me to start and stop shooting. I stay on here to keep up with the new stuff. I have a small collection of firearms. I mainly shoot and reload for 260rem/6.5g more. I do need a new optic for my 260 though and quite possibly a shorter barrel for the Grendel (radical firearms 24in currently)

Both of those are fine chamberings for pretty much anything that can be hunted in that area of texas and excellent choices for target shooting.
Unless your kicking in doors or just want a more compact AR I would leave the 24" barrel on the G, no sense in going backwards performance wise.

I had my 260 built years ago when I lived on Benning when I got into shooting. Someone from the marksmanship unit got me hooked.

There's definitely far worse vices to have.
I grew up not far from SA in a town called Marble Falls lots of cool places around that area to check out but would definitely recommend you go to the Frio River at Garner state park.
It's a really unique place, aqua blue green water with limestone bedrock throughout and the bank is lined with old cypress trees.
It's a fun and scenic float down the river when it's to damn hot to do anything else.
