Free state college or a trade school after an aptitude test to determine course of education. Then end the welfare program.
Second point that I actually think should happen in a free capitalist country.
Upon graduation an aptitude test and those that are inclined towards an avenue of education corporations can fund future employees education. Yes it sounds a lot like corporate towns, stores and money but it can be worked out.
But now most of the manufacturers are in China so that needs to get straightened out.

At this point it is subsidies fighting subsidies. Solar subsidies might now be larger than farming subsidies. Plus easier for a deep pocketed investor to set up a solar farm and collect cash rather than do actual work on a farm.

Among my college papers I still have a receipt for fall tuition in 1985. For 17 credits, lab fees, insurance, activity fee and health center fee it was $496. This was for junior level electrical engineering courses. Plug that into an inflation calculator and it's about $1350 today.
Todays tuition at that same university is $4913, and that's without any fees.
Easy government loans allowed the colleges to jack up their prices.

The movie "2000 Mules" shows precisely what they did, and how; there is even video proof. Since the libs obviously got away with it with no consequences, even calling the indisputable truth 'the big lie', why would they not keep doing it?

100% spot on there AllenOne. Now, let's expand. It took many of the surviving companies that had pride and didn't declare bankrupcy until the mid-late 90s to fully recover. In many areas of the country the hole that was dug without declaring bankrupcy was huge and the recovery didn't hit in full force (think more rural areas, cities less than 50K).
Also remember this was back when businesses such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing contractors had to stock most of the stuff themselves that they bought from suppliers so they could service their customers. Then kick in that high 18%+ interest rate (prime!!!, not borrowing rate) with all that inventory and you can see how people lost their asses. Businesses that survived without bankrupcy took years to get back to profitability as they were massively in hock.

Trump fortunately ripped the Republican party from the grasp of the neocons, but didn't really establish much in the way of a replacement theory of governance. I understand that older conservatives are quite comfortable simply voting against the left, but younger people who are not yet set in their ways need something more tangible to support.
Until the Republicans get candidates who can go on Rogan to share concrete plans, forget about ever getting support from this cohort. And it's not like this is some impossible task; Dave Smith was on that exact podcast a couple of months ago staking out the Libertarian position on a range of issues, and video clips of that interview have gotten over 10 million views.

I said this very thing to Ol' Noob in another thread...the younger generation listen with the wrong hole.
Used to be folks were raised with enough pride to want to support themselves, and looked down on handouts as being beneath them. But a couple of generations of paying women to raise illegitimate kids in fatherless homes has taken its toll.
Sway those young people back to the side of enlightenment or lose the country forever. Most conservatives are more comfortable with the latter because the former is so much harder than complaining. Men can volunteer at their local Boy Scout chapter or church youth group (we're dying from lack of adult volunteers), or they can repost tweets about Drag Queen Story Hour in a city 1200 miles away.
I spend one weekend and twelve weeknights each month with the aforementioned youth activities, in addition to about two weeks' worth of vacation time each year for chaperoning field trips and overnight camp. It ain't enough, so hopefully someone else can pick up some slack.

I worked a lot of 16 hour days to put my two kids in private schools starting at pre-k trough high school. I made a deal with them. Get straight A's and I'll buy you a car for senior year high school. They both did (of course)...
That led to both of them getting full scholarships for college, which basically paid for the cars and then some. We still had to pay R&B, but college was free. Now they both are making good money, one is married, they own a brand new home, and I have two grandkids as a result. And no college debt.
Kids, and most parents, don't see the importance of being straight A students in high school and end up having to borrow. Borrowing money on the "promise" of a future job is a suckers bet. Take doctors and lawyers. For most, it takes a decade or more to get those loans off their books....
