Preview of a new muzzle brake.

For those that want a slim line brake that can be timed and removed without worrying about torque or other special machine work this might be something to look at.

Simply have your smith thread the barrel .600”, remove material from the barrel shoulder until the barrel shoulder and brake touch with the pinch caller at 6 o’clock, then a slight turn on the pinch bolt and the brake is locked down.

If your barrel is already threaded at least .600” your smith can face off the back of the brake until the pinch collar is at 6 o’clock.

The brake has two ports that are at both 10 degrees up and back eliminating ground blast.

The brake comes in four different diameters for a wide range of barrel diameters with exit holes that are already opened up for three different bullet diameters, 6mm to .308.

    Brake diameters are .860", .900", .960", 1.00".

    All threaded 5/8x24"

Looks damn good, Randy. Out of curiosity, what diameters will be offered? Also, what thread pattern will they be offered in (5/8x24 I am assuming...any others)?

    Thanks for the preview!

    Brake diameters are .860", .900", .960", 1.00".

The barrel in the pic is .880" and the brake is .900"

All threaded 5/8x24". Right now no other thread pattern.

I definitely think the bolt on brakes are the go, good work man looks slick

Also, have you done any recoil reduction testing yet?

That is the plan but Frank is a very busy guy. I have a few others that are installed, including the one in the pic, that are going out and they will be giving their opinion.

It works very well. It's been tested side by side with all the other popular thread on brakes out there. The problem is after awhile shooting a braked rifle they all feel the same with the same caliber, so much so it's hard to tell the difference. I think what it comes down to at that point is what the brake looks like.

    Re: Muzzle brake preview

I have always liked the bolt style brakes, but never cared for the size they had to be to make it all work. These look really good and have an awesome profile to them. Great work!!

    Prices??

Possible but it will be later, have several other projects in the works at the moment.

    Thanks </div></div>

The pinch collar is threaded all the way from the shoulder to the first brake port. There is a relief groove at the rear of the brake however if the brake is faced off to fit to an already threaded barrel this may have to be increased.

    very very interested pending price.

The brake is 2.00" long, so OAL to the barrel would be about 1.40" after threading.

    Re: Muzzle brake preview

hi we like the design but what price are you thinking? if you dont want to post it please PM me as we have customers that want a QD break that is easy to remove and replace without using a radial break.

    Re: Muzzle brake preview

    HateCA,
You have been asked how much the brake is several times........

I am going to ask one More time. WHAT IS THE COST OF THE BREAK............

2 inch brake minus .6 of thread ..

it will add 1.4 inches to the barrel

Now if you want to continue this take it to PM otherwise you’re free to go.

Why take the words in the wrong direction? if you are interested in Randy's product, contact him to get pricing, many already post enough information in the thread.

If you are not even interested in this product, read the title again, "Muzzle brake preview", take it for what it is, and nothing else.

Cool looking brake. Really like the easy on & off feature for matches / times when a brake is inappropriate. I'm looking forward to shooting it & testing it out.

R&D makes and patents some nice stuff.Well Done Randy
