Muzzle device choices for your rimfire.

Just curious of what everyone runs, pros and cons? I’m thinking of running a 419 hellfire just for some more length on my b14 so it doesn’t fall over in my safe, also the Witt Machine sound mitigation contraption looks pretty cool. I searched and didn’t see a thread like this immediately so I figured id give it a go.

Nothing. My barrel is threaded and did not come with a thread protector. I was going to put some hider or what not on it to protect the threads. But I ordered a thread protector instead

We run compensators on our rimfire challenge race rifles and pistols, only to help the timer hear the shots better. For precision shooting, nothing.

Same with a suppressor, lead builds up pretty quickly, after about 500 rounds I find I start getting fliers.

A suppressor has benefits that makes it worth the effort, a muzzle brake on a 22lr not so.

I have a moderator and exclusively shoot hp subsonics which works very well for me in picking off the rabbits. With only a 14inch barrel the moderator also helps balance the gun which counts almost as much as the noise...... I have cleaned my moderator once after about 1,000 rounds so it isn't much of a burden and makes my Anschutz mouse fart quiet which really helps when hunting.

I was wanting to run the same brake on my Vudoo that is on my CF for suppressor attachment. I had no plans to attach my CF Suppresssor to the rimfire. Just wanted the look to match. I ran a short test today of groups. 3-5 shot groups with the Brake. Then 1-5 shot group without. The prof is in the pictures.
72*, no wind, 50 yards prone, Ammo is SK Rifle Match.

Can has benefits. Muzzle break is pretty pointless unless you're trying to trip a timer.

From my personal experience a muzzle brake on a .22 lr doesn't really do much at all other then look good if that's the look you're going for , just my opinion .I don't think it will shorten your shooting time like you're hoping.

I'm pretty sure my Harrell's Precision tuner brake softened the recoil on my 17# 22lr

Ran a can for a number of years at matches and got sick of cleaning it every 250-350 rounds.
I just use the can at night!

I run the old muzzle brake from my centerfire. Not because it helps, but because it looks ridiculous.

Dead Air Mask. The Vudoo is zeroed with the can and it never comes off, except for cleaning. Baffles get tossed in the tumbler with SS pins every 500 or so, or if accuracy drops off.

With the can on, the gun shoots beyond the limits of my ability (10 shot 50yd group below), so I’ve never really chased tuners.

That is the one! I believe it does help on accuracy. I could see the group size shrink and open back up...however my rifle never had really bad grouping. I liked the price and looks more than other for a 22lr.
