This topic has been the entertainment of my past week or so during my deployment....

Okay so a buddy from the great state of CA (hahhaha) is planning on buying a new shotgun when we get back.

Fast forward, his wife is totally against the idea. (Gotta love Californians) She's against firearms around the house, doesn't even consider the idea of Pistols. My friend is 28 and hates the fact he still doesn't own a single firearm! I kindly remind him that in MN firearms are common place, and that I owned several at 18.

Back to the Whole pistol deal, In her childhood her friend shot and killed her father or some sort because she was being abused and lost it.

This put a bad taste of firearms in his wives mouth... to me I can't see it, but then again hippie blood doesn't flow in these veins.

Just thought i'd give some insight to how some Californians think. There is no hope for them. The logical route their brains take blows my mind. My buddy is still getting the shotgun. He's dead set on that, and him and the wifey are still engaging in debate over the topic.

Cheers. and if you don't get this, then maybe i'm just loosing my mind out here...

Re: My Buddy and His wife...

There are people out there exactly like this, that aren't from CA. And all residents of CA aren't hippies that are against gun control. I'm sure the state of MN has a couple retards that live there too.... Kinda out of the blue with this, and don't see the point behind this thread, but good luck for your buddy I guess..????

Re: My Buddy and His wife...

I have property in Two Harbors. I recall a few years back when MN passed shall issue ccw, tons of Duluth businesses were putting up "no carry" signs on their property because they believed gunfights would suddenly happen everywhere. Plenty of nutcases to go around, and they aren't all in Cali.

Re: My Buddy and His wife...

Anyone wanting to marry into a situation like this, please send all firearms to me. I'll take care of them until the divorce. Just offering up a free service..

Oh the logic - a physically weaker individual dispises one of the few tools that can be used to defend themselves against a numerically or physically superior force.

Good luck

Re: My Buddy and His wife...

Theyre in Texas too. You wouldnt believe the statistic quoting drivel Im exposed to on the regular. Sad part is that it usually comes from pretyy intelligent conservatives that have been swayed buy the garbage they read and see on TV. My tolerance for it keeps growing thinner.

Re: My Buddy and His wife...

Nearly all the hot ones are crazy. Even though we here in MN are a shall issue you still run into the issue with some of the larger "city" counties being anti-gun. They end up fighting and loosing most of the cases in court and the permit applicant gets his/her permit to carry anyways. Nice thing about my state is it's not ONLY a CCW but a PTC, meaning I don't get hauled to jail is my pistol is showing when I'm riding the bike. Not that I try to push it, just saying.

Re: My Buddy and His wife...

They are all over, I had to put my foot down what my child was being told at school. He or both boys where told guns where evil and no one should have one. I had a long talk with all the staff and made sure they would be told the truth. People kill people not guns.

I unfortunately did just that, and didnt know it till it was too late, but then again my 2 pistols, rifle, and shotgun did still make it into the house. Long story short, I told her Tony Danza...............

I'm the boss

I gotta agree with Nessal.

So is everybody from Alabama inbred? How about everyone from Hawaii, do they all surf? Is everyone in Alaska a fucking eskimo? Maybe everyone from Nebraska owns a wheat farm, or everyone in Utah is a Mormon. Their are morons in every state, even in Mn, you just proved it.

Re: My Buddy and His wife...

Kalifornia, yes it is "F'd" up. That being said the best way to further our sport is to take someone who has never shot a gun, or don't like them shooting. I am not talking about "youtube" shooting either. You know give some 80lb waif a .50AE desert eagle without ear protection and laugh at her when she pulls the front sight out of her forehead.

I have taken many out with nothing more than eye protection, ear plugs, a few .22's and some hot shaken soda, and lemons off the tree. Converts them to gun nuts in one outing.

You could send donations to the NRA or any gun org but nothing converts the non believer better than a .22.

Damn simple logic there............ </div></div>

+1, one of my favorite dates is taking a girl out shooting. If she doesn't like them she's gone. But luckily I live in rural Utah. Which means 9 out of 10 girls love them

Re: My Buddy and His wife...

She may not like firearms, but her refusing them to be in her house is a control issue, if he gives in she owns him, if brings weapons in the house she knows she cannot control him, either way a divorce is in there future, tell your buddy not to reproduce with her.

Thank God I took this advice with my first wife. All I lost was my clothes, business, all my money, cars trucks and house. Can't imagine having to deal with her for all this time with a kid.

Re: My Buddy and His wife...

Wife is from CA and I found it wasnt so much that she was against them but more that the concept was so foreign to her that she never though about it.

Long story short she loves shooting now and to this day her family dosnt seem to get it.

Re: My Buddy and His wife...

When I got my first AR, my parents asked why and my girlfriend semi-freaked out, and all of them are very conservative.

Problem is, when you aren't exposed to firearms, all you know about them is what you see on the media and tv...and we all know how well that works out.

Now, my family has several firearms and my gf will empty my wallet at the range with the AR (thank God for steel cased ammo).

Re: My Buddy and His wife...

Hey,needless to say that when my now (Ex Wife) used to give shit about spending money on guns,i would buy 2 at a time just to piss her off.after a while she got the message.

What i'm trying to say to your friend,is that don't let his wife or anyone come between that wich he enjoys doing, cars ,firearms or whatever....Life is just to friggin short.

Re: My Buddy and His wife...

Hey, just tell him to ask her if she knows anyone killed by a car. When she replies, "Yes" (which she will unless she's a lying twatwaffle), then he can tell her to hand over the keys, sell her effing vehicle, and walk everywhere, since cars are killers.

Of course that relies on logic, and obviously anyone who blames a firearm for a killing (justified or otherwise) is barren of that.

Re: My Buddy and His wife...

we have a skank in my unit that is exempt from qualifying (dont ask how thats legal cause i dont know) for an indefinite period because her uncle killed himself(suicide-ON PURPOSE) with a shotgun a few weeks ago and now guns "scare" her! did she pull the trigger-NO, did she witness it happen-NOPE, was she even in the same state-NO!

i'll never understand the way some Libtards brains work

Re: My Buddy and His wife...

What's to get, man up and tell her that it's happening.

Make a concession and keep it unloaded but keep a few rounds in the nightstand...

I mean I understand the mentality, had a girlfriend like that once - until I took her to the range and let her shoot 6 or 7 magazines in an Ar, the Beretta etc....now she at least UNDERSTANDS why I enjoy shooting.

^ This is what I run into more often than not. Not a big deal if its a private citizen, but when they write laws for your town it can be a real hassle.
