Spending your money the way you want is your business, but when you post it on the internet, it ceases to be your business alone.

I've never served in the military, I'm not a police officer, I don't have millions of dollars, and I'm not anything else special, I'm just a normal US citizen and aside from about 2 or 3 of your stocks, I have shot every single one of those actual weapons along with many others repeatedly. It is not difficult to find someone/somewhere where you can get to play with the real McCoy. That's money much better spent and the memories/pictures of it will certainly be a lot more entertaining.

You mentioned going to the range to see if it will work, of course it is going to work, you haven't actually made any modifications to the firearm itself, placing a different stock on it isn't going to radically change anything with regards to function. It's like putting makeup on a pig, regardless of how you make it look, it's still made out of bacon.

This is a site dedicated to long distance precision shooting, even this rimfire section is about going as far as you can with a .22, prior to reading through this subforum I had never envisioned shooting .22 past 100yds and now I regularly shoot at 300yd+ with mine. You're not going to find a receptive audience here as most everyone on this forum couldn't care less about looks, all they care about is function, and there is a dearth of that here.

Maybe if you took your .22s and went and shot them for precision you'd get a better reception, but as it stands you just appear to be showing off your toys for attention and becoming upset and defensive when people deride you for it.

I for one think this is cooler than sh!t. My 14 y/o is a$$ over heels about airsoft and "sniper rifles" in particular. His buddy walked in the house with an AICS AW with an orange tip (I guess that call it the "L96"). I got to play with the thing and I'll be dogged if it didn't feel exactly like an AI. That this guy has figured out how to gut and fit a "training rifle" to one of these stocks should make most of you sit back and go Hmmmmmmmm.

Nobody is making A5's YET! but when it happens this guy will be the one who knows the ins and outs of gutting it to make it work.

I don't see the need for any thing full auto but you can't deny that they are fun to shoot. Am I gonna bash somebody for owning a bullet hose and posting here? Not so much, just not my thing but it's cool none the less.

defcon, it would be better if you were into shooting for accuracy but hey ya gotta start some where.

CDOJ Requirements

To own that many firearms and not have a safe, with children in the house is about as negligent behavior as I have ever heard. My firearms stay under lock and key, no one gets in there but me. I have two small kids and don't want them anywhere near that type of danger.

This is primarily a place to learn and share about precision rifle shooting. You guys are like wolves after blood. Hammering the guy for everything from how he should spend his money to chastising him for not having a safe. I bet a person could go through most of your garages or attics and find an ample amount of things you guys have bought over the years others would think was silly and or useless. Ask your wives.

As for all your comments about how nobody on the hide cares about looks, I call B.S. I see plenty of people stating they are looking for "tacticool" stocks for their rifles as are many of the rifles painted in various forms of camo. Do all the people who paint there weapons do so with the sole intent of having to hide in the brush?

There are places on the Hide for Defcon to show off his stocks just as there are places to discuss knives, shotguns, & Krylon paint.

There are over 60K members on the Hide. If all are as dedicated to long range precision as some of you state you have to be to post up on the Hide, Camp Perry should be plenty full this year.

To the OP: youre gonna figure out pretty quick that people here are serious about LONG RANGE shooting, not playing call of duty with bastardized airsoft 22s. I like taking things apart and engineering things to solve problems but this doesnt really have anything to do with functionality. You dont work for red jacket do ya?

I tell you what, if I could stand shooting an AICS chassis I'd have you on speed dial for tips on the best way to gut it to fit my 540X, 513T. Savage 93, etc, etc, etc.. The same said if I drove an M-24/PSS. My kid spent 2 hours last night trying to find an airsoft company making an A5 stock. The best he came up with was and FN SPR/PBR that will be released soon in an A4 ($810 but it's coming).

Yeah those feed lips are trouble. Which gen did you get? The first with the plastic tab is junk. The second was also bad because they did some plastic tab on the feed lips. The third gen was better but you have to shoot high velocity heavy grain bullets like the velocitors by CCI that shoot 40gr @ 1140fps. I use 25rd mags in my 10/22. Oh joy Kentucky pretty much has no gun laws. Lol

Not my game, I damn sure wouldn't spend it, some basement dweller sure will. However if one of these companies is making repro FN PBR's it won't be too long before the lower end companies start making A5's or dare I say it "Manner's" stocks. As soon as the money grubbers figure out there is a market for injection molded plastic stocks that look just like the real thing and "real" guys turn them into training rifles........ There just "might" be a market for it.
