This is my first bolt gun. It is a custom Remington 700, built by Mel at Sniper Central. Looked like a fair deal to get a rifle how I wanted it, as an entry level package.
Base Rifle: Remington 700 SPS Tactical
Caliber: .308 WIN
Barrel: 1-in-12 twist, 20”
Stock: B&C MK II Adjustable, Tan with Black Webbing
Bolt Knob: TacOps Bolt Knob
Bipod: Harris 6-9” adjustable with spring loaded legs.
Optics: Bushnell Elite 5-15x40mm
Previous experience with bolt guns: Stock Remington 700 SPS of friend, and a M24 at an SRT range in the Army.
Initial impression without firing it yet? *giggles like a schoolgirl*
Action seems fairly smooth, trigger is nice and tight with no discernible creep or unreasonable over travel.
I fed some dummy reloads through it. Cycled smooth and nicely.
The only thing I didn't like about the stock was the solid cheek piece which forces me to move it down every time I want to remove the bolt. (I really wish I could set it once and not have to move it again.)
