We did it last Friday with a 18 inch barrel .308 at the 1012 yard spot. I would not say its supper accurate with old military ammo that he was shooting. I will be posting the video soon.

Any new load data for your 7mm WSM with Berger 180gr VLD?</div></div>
Nope. One of my buddies got a GAP 7wsm hunting rifle. I was doing load dvelopment for it. I tried some Retumbo. The problem was not getting the speed that I was getting with H1000, before the Retumbo load was too compressed. Did not spend a lot of time trying Retumbo, just went back to the H1000. Ended up using 65g H1000, Berger 180's, CCI-BR2 primers.
I have not changed my load at all. 65g H1000, 180's CCI-BR2 2975Fps shoots to good. I did try the 180 Hybrids with the same load. They where 1 1/2 MOA lower that 1012 yards then the 180 VLD's. Need to do more testing, but really don't want to.

Thanks for the reloading info, it is very helpful.

I'm getting a 7mm WSM built by RW Snyder gunsmithing with surgeon RSR action, 28" barrel with kreiger 1 in 8.5" twist, alpha mag.

I presume you are using winchester 7mm WSM brass and not up or downsizing from another caliber. Are you weight sorting and/or neck turning?

I'm planning to full length resize with Redding dies with the usual case prep (length trim, chamfer and deburr, uniform primer pocket and hole).

I like the 180 Berger as well.

Has anyone used the Matrix Ballistics 190grs VLD for 7mm WSM?

Thanks for any more suggestions.

The 7mm WSM has a slightly longer body than the others, so it's not really feasible to "make" it from other brass. That's why some have made the 7mm-300 WSM wildcat, which has the same body as the other WSM rounds.

Am I mistaken, I thought you could make 7mm WSM from upsizing 270 WSM or downsizing 300 WSM.
